  • Steward consistent legal positions and risk treatment; challenge legacy approaches, decide within delegated authority, and frame material issues for senior leaders.
  • Lead localization of globally neutral content, limiting variation to approved legal or operational requirements.
  • Build the end-to-end operating model, including intake, simplification, taxonomy, roles, handoffs, maintenance, and supporting tools.
  • Establish governance for ownership, version control, approvals, exceptions, review cycles, releases, and retirement.
  • Sponsor implementation planning, stakeholder alignment, validation, testing, deployment readiness, and resolution of strategic risks, dependencies, and resource constraints.
  • Define and report workstream measures for progress, adoption, simplification, cycle time, quality, risk, partner experience, and realized value.
  • Partner on training, communications, adoption, lessons learned, and continuous improvement.
  • Build alignment across Legal, business, contracting, Technology, and enabling functions; secure decisions and resources.
  • Lead assigned team members and partners, with clear roles, expectations, accountability, and capacity plans.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Juris Doctor, LL.B., or equivalent law degree.
  • Advanced training or experience in legal operations, contracting, project management, transformation, process improvement or change management is preferred.

Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum 10 years of legal or contracting experience, including leadership of complex commercial contracting, legal operations, or enterprise transformation; life sciences experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong legal and enterprise judgment, balancing risk, compliance, business value, market practice, operational feasibility, and user experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex global workstreams, navigating ambiguity, and influencing senior leaders without formal authority.
  • Proven success delivering legal or contracting transformation at scale and connecting strategy, governance, content, technology, data, and change; fluency in automation, analytics, structured data, and responsible AI preferred.
  • Executive communication, facilitation, decision-framing, program leadership, problem-solving, talent development, and accountability for outcomes.

Key Proficiencies:
  • Legal Judgment and Risk Leadership – Balances enterprise protection, simplicity, and business value.
  • Strategic Execution, Accountability, and Governance – Converts enterprise strategy into a disciplined roadmap, clear decisions, effective controls, and measurable outcomes; owns delivery through others.
