The Role

Genmab is looking for a pragmatic and impact-driven leader to head Operational Excellence (OpEx) within Technical Operations. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving end-to-end process excellence, performance management, and continuous improvement across TechOps—enabling scalable operations and reliable delivery from development through commercial supply

In this role, you will establish and lead a lean, cross-functional Operational Excellence capability, focused on standardizing ways of working, improving performance and driving continuous improvement across TechOps.

You will work across CMC (ADC CoE, Product Development, Dev & Manufacturing), Supply Chain, and QA/QC, with a strong focus on end-to-end processes and interfaces, particularly in an externally managed manufacturing network.

You will report to the Head of TechOps Strategy and Business Effectiveness and collaborate closely with TechOps LT and functional leaders to embed a performance-driven culture and scalable operating model across the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and implement the TechOps Operational Excellence framework, including standards, methodologies and governance.

  • Build OpEx culture across the organization through coaching, training and change management.

  • Establish and embed performance management systems, including KPIs, dashboards and governance routines.

  • Identify and address bottlenecks and inefficiencies (e.g., release timelines, tech transfer, planning interfaces).

  • Lead and prioritize continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, process simplification, efficiency programs) aligned with business priorities.

  • Drive end-to-end process optimization across development, manufacturing, supply chain and quality - focusing on cross-functional interfaces.

  • Support implementation of digital and data-driven ways of working in collaboration with Digital TechOps.

  • Ensure alignment with broader TechOps strategy and transformation initiatives, as well as OpEx initiatives and strategies across outside of TechOps, eg in R&D.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD or MBA) in engineering, life sciences, operations or related field.

  • 10–15+ years of experience in Operational Excellence, manufacturing, supply chain or TechOps in biotech/pharma.

  • Proven experience driving process improvement and transformation initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar).

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end TechOps processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable performance improvements in complex environments.

  • Experience working in cross-functional and matrix organizations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.

  • Experience in building and embedding performance management and continuous improvement cultures.

  • You can grapple with the unknown and be innovative

  • You have experience working in a fast-growing, dynamic company (or a strong desire to)
