Job Description

Visa is seeking a Director – Technology People Strategy & Operations to join the People team. Reporting to the SVP, People Technology, role acts as a strategic People advisor to senior Technology leaders and People Business Partners, ensuring strong alignment between Technology’s priorities and the broader People team strategy. This leader will drive Technology’s people strategy with expertise in human capital consulting, workforce planning, people analytics, and GenAI-enabled insights. The role requires strong strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and operational excellence, with the ability to set direction and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape long-term people strategies aligned to Technology and enterprise priorities.
  • Serve as an internal human capital consultant, conducting organizational assessments and advising on workforce design, leadership effectiveness, and talent strategy.
  • Lead strategic planning for the Technology People Team, including OKRs, multi‑year priorities, and execution roadmaps.
  • Bring external insight on HR innovation, future‑of‑work trends, organizational effectiveness, and workforce architecture.
  • Build advanced data‑driven insights using analytics, dashboards, forecasting, and GenAI‑powered tools.
  • Report key people metrics, trends, and progress to executive audiences, including for operational reviews and board/regulatory updates.
  • Convert complex data into clear recommendations and action plans.
  • Leverage GenAI to streamline processes, elevate insights, and improve decision-making.
  • Lead high‑priority, cross‑functional initiatives with clear outcomes and measurable impact.
  • Drive process and operating model improvements across Technology.
  • Manage leadership meetings, including agenda design, content development, facilitation, and follow-up.
  • Lead special projects such as promotion process modernization, early‑career strategy, talent supply/demand modeling, and recruiting efficiencies.
  • Support Technology workforce planning and partner with Business Planning on headcount, structure, and capability needs.
  • Monitor organizational health, attrition, and workforce trends, diagnose root causes and recommend interventions.
  • Continuously evaluate HR programs to ensure impact, effectiveness, and alignment to business needs.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 170,700.00 to 273,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
