We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director, Technology Communications & Change (14 month contract) to lead two interconnected functions: Technology Communications and Technology Organizational Change Management (OCM). This role establishes the strategic direction, governance, standards, and priorities for how Technology communicates with employees, leaders, and external audiences, and how technology-driven change is assessed, planned, adopted, sustained, and measured across a complex portfolio of initiatives.

As a trusted advisor to Technology leadership, you will translate complex priorities into clear narratives, embed the employee perspective into critical decisions, and create the conditions required for successful organizational change. You will oversee portfolio-level change planning, strengthen sponsor and leadership capability, proactively identify change risk and organizational saturation, and ensure priority initiatives are supported by robust impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, learning, readiness, adoption, sustainment, and measurement practices that drive successful business outcomes.

What you will do:

  • Define and drive the strategic direction for Technology communications and organizational change management, aligned with Technology priorities and business objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Technology leadership, providing guidance on executive communications, employee engagement, organizational change, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Shape and oversee Technology's communications governance model, ensuring communication activities are coordinated, strategic, and aligned across the organization.
  • Partner closely with Corporate Communications, HR, Enterprise Change, Learning, Technology leaders, and business stakeholders to align messaging, coordinate change activity, and reduce communication overlap and fatigue.
  • Provide organizational change leadership and advisory support for priority Technology initiatives, ensuring communications, stakeholder engagement, readiness, and adoption considerations are appropriately integrated into delivery plans.
  • Guide leaders and sponsors through periods of change by identifying employee impacts, adoption risks, stakeholder concerns, and readiness requirements, and recommending practical mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain Technology's OCM framework, methodologies, tools, and standards, ensuring a consistent and scalable approach to change management across major initiatives.
  • Monitor change readiness, adoption, stakeholder feedback, and employee impact across key initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Serve as an escalation point for significant communication, change, readiness, or employee-impact risks and advise leadership on appropriate actions.
  • Oversee the function's budget and vendor investments, ensuring resources are effectively managed and aligned to organizational priorities.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, Information Technology, Organizational Development, Change Management, or a related discipline.
  • Senior leadership experience within Technology, Communications, Organizational Change Management, Transformation, or a comparable strategic function in a complex organization.
  • Strong understanding of technology organizations, technology delivery, and the people, process, and adoption considerations required to successfully implement technology change.
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior executives and translating complex technology strategies, priorities, and initiatives into clear, actionable communications and engagement strategies.
  • Experience leading enterprise communications, executive communications, organizational change, employee engagement, or transformation initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and best practices, with experience applying them to technology-driven initiatives.
  • Experience providing strategic oversight and guidance on stakeholder engagement, impact assessment, readiness, adoption, communications, learning, and change risk management.
  • Proven ability to assess organizational impacts, competing priorities, stakeholder needs, and change implications and provide practical recommendations to leadership.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and influence outcomes across Technology, Corporate Communications, HR, Enterprise Change, Learning, business leaders, and external partners.
  • Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams, including communications, change management, and external resources.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, facilitation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with sound judgment in complex or high-visibility situations.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and external service providers.
  • Change Management certification (e.g., Prosci) is considered an asset.
