We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and business-oriented Director, Technical Program Management - Subrogation to support the continued growth, operational excellence, and strategic execution of the Subrogation business unit. This role partners closely with Subrogation Chairs, Co-Chairs, Attorneys, Legal teams, Technical Coordinators and key stakeholders in operations, finance, compliance, IT, vendor management and Subrogation clients.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and highly credible program leader who combines strong execution skills with sound business judgment. This individual should be comfortable operating across legal, operational, financial, technical, and leadership teams while maintaining a strong focus on quality, accountability, client service, and business growth.

They will bring their presence to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, the discipline to drive complex initiatives and reporting rhythms, and the commercial mindset to help leadership identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the business unit.

Responsibilities

Business Unit Leadership and Strategic Support

  • Support the day to day operations and continued growth of the Subrogation business unit in partnership with Subrogation Chairs, Co-Chairs, including Attorneys and paralegal teams, Technical Coordinators, and Recovery Analysts across NSS and Cozen internal and external teams.
  • Work with recovery and subrogation teams to identify opportunities to enhance operational processes, claims, recovery and matter, and financial workflows, and provide practical recommendations to the leadership team.

Program Delivery and Operations

  • Lead end-to-end execution of complex workflows and processes related to claims, attorney journaling, case management, accounting, invoicing, reporting programs and operational initiatives, including planning, governance, implementation and issue resolution, and post-release stabilization of applications and services.
  • Support and drive the delivery model for the subrogation business unit, including monthly and quarterly reporting, various leadership reports, fee projections daily, weekly and monthly, quarterly releases, claims end to end processing support, and vendor coordination/management.
  • Establish clear timelines, dependencies, risks, escalation paths, and accountability mechanisms to ensure high-quality execution.

Systems and Processes

  • Apply working knowledge of claims management systems and matter lifecycle processes to support process improvement, solution design, and delivery oversight.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of finance-related operations, including escrow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and operational finance workflows.
  • Support business and systems initiatives involving SaaS/Cloud/AI enabled/on-prem applications and home-gown software and data services and related integrations, ensuring alignment between business objectives and measurable outcomes.

Reporting, Governance and Compliance

  • Support the development, monitoring, and maintenance of KPIs for the Subrogation business unit and coordinate executive-ready monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audit and compliance activities, including support for SOC1, encryption, ISO certification, and related governance requirements.
  • Promote disciplined documentation, risk management, release quality, control execution, and operational consistency across programs and business processes.

Client Engagement and Business Development Support

  • Operate effectively in a client-facing capacity with the ability to prepare and present executive readout reports, business updates, and operational insights in a polished and professional manner.
  • Willingness for an occasional travel for client meetings, sales efforts, and business development activities, while helping strengthen trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations, Finance, Project Management, Legal Operations, or a related discipline.

• 12+ years of relevant experience in program management, PMO, business operations, legal operations, claims-related environments, insurance, or professional services.

• Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.

• Strong business acumen and experience partnering with senior leadership to drive execution, improve operations, and support strategic growth.

• Knowledge of claims management systems, matter lifecycle workflows, and related operational processes.

• Good understanding of finance, escrow, AR/AP processing, fee projections, and integrations with SaaS-based business applications.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare materials and present effectively to leadership and clients.

• Ability to identify process improvement opportunities, develop business-focused recommendations, and drive follow-through to completion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA strongly preferred.

• PMP or comparable program/project management certification preferred.

• Experience in subrogation, legal services, claims operations, insurance, or professional services environments.

• Familiarity with audit, security, and compliance frameworks, including SOC, ISO, and related operational controls.
