Reporting to : Head of PL Life Science & Performance Catalysts (SM-KA-LSP) – BL Catalysts
Entity & Work Location : Evonik Catalysts India, Dombivli
Purpose of the Position :
The position ensures the sustainable short- and long-term growth of the PL’s business in India and SEAANZ ensures that marketing and business development activities in India/SEAANZ are coordinated with the PL’s global strategy and with respective activities and positions in other regions, above all in APN (Greater China, Korea, Japan).
It supports the regional BL Head with transferring the global PL strategy into the assigned region(s).
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and assess business opportunities for PL LSP catalysts and joint development projects in the life science and fine chemicals industry.
Define and lead or accompany technical development projects according to customer needs, growth potential and profitability
Initiate and support target- and customer-oriented developments of products and services, according to local market needs and in alignment with the global product group management.
Translate global PL strategy into regional marketing activities and develop suitable implementation strategies.
Develop and drive regional market communication campaigns for PL LSP’s offerings and applications, supported by communication specialists
Cooperate with and guide the local sales organization and align with the local RDI organization to achieve the PL’s business targets
Process technical customer requests, coordinate projects with global product group management and align corresponding tasks and activities with RDI and AT
Identify and manage potential collaboration partners in the industry or in academia (e.g. for development projects or for testing purposes)
Monitor market trends and developments in the regional life science and fine chemicals industry, e.g. capacity expansions, new catalyst developments, regulatory aspects, customer/prospects activities
Collect and consolidate information on market dynamics (value, innovation, business models, outsourcing, imports/exports, regulatory etc.)
Education & Experience required:
Masters or equivalent with relevant qualification. PhD in Chemistry preferred.
Extensive professional experience (>10 yrs) with relevant practice in catalysts industry at a high level of qualification.
Highly self-motivated personality with extraordinary problem solving skills
Excellent intercultural skills and experience in working in a complex matrix environment.
Experience in planning and managing resources to achieve predetermined goals set by PL/regions management.
Uses extensive knowledge and skills to work independently while advising and training others on developing appropriate plans or taking necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.
