Director, Talent Development 

We are seeking a Director, Talent Development to lead the design, execution, and scale of learning and talent development programs across AHEAD. This role will serve as the enterprise lead for Learning & Development, with dedicated partnership to AHEAD Consulting and Services (ACS)—our largest and fastest-growing business unit. The ideal candidate combines expertise in adult learning with an AI-forward mindset, driving scalable learning solutions that integrate AI, automation, and digital tools into the employee experience. This role will also help shape the future of work at AHEAD by embedding learning into work, enabling change leadership, and fostering a culture of curiosity and continuous development. 

Responsibilities

  • Talent Development Strategy & Leadership 
  • Set the Future-Focused L&D Vision: Lead an AI-forward, enterprise-wide learning and development strategy aligned to AHEAD’s IMPACT 2027 vision. Champion a future-of-work mindset that enables employee growth, business agility, and responsible AI adoption. 
  • Manage & Coach the L&D Team: Lead and develop a high-performing team including a Sr. Manager, LMS Administrator, Trainer, and Instructional Designer. Provide strategic direction, capacity planning, and team coaching. 
  • Build Scalable Infrastructure: Oversee the evolution of AHEAD's L&D systems, including LMS governance, vendor partnerships, digital learning platforms, and content strategy. 
  • Ensure Program Excellence: Establish a consistent and repeatable approach to L&D program design, implementation, and evaluation that meets the needs of a diverse, hybrid workforce. 
  • Activate Culture & Change: Infuse AI literacy, digital dexterity, and change readiness into talent development to shape a high-performance, adaptive culture. 
  • Champion Digital Learning Innovation: Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI-powered learning platforms, skills intelligence tools, and personalized learning experiences to scale and modernize L&D. 

  • ACS Partnership & Program Ownership 
  • Lead L&D for ACS: Serve as the strategic learning partner to ACS leadership. Translate business needs into tailored development strategies that support performance, delivery excellence, and talent readiness. 
  • Own AHEAD Consulting University (ACU): Design and launch this flagship learning initiative to support onboarding, technical skills, power skills, and leadership readiness within ACS, including exploration of intelligent content delivery, AI-enhanced upskilling pathways, and analytics to measure impact and inform strategy. 
  • Consult on Enablement: Partner with ACS operations and delivery leads to ensure learning is embedded into daily workflows, enabling a culture of continuous development. 
  • Support AI Transformation: Partner with ACS and enterprise leaders to embed learning into AI transformation efforts, connecting upskilling, job redesign and leadership enablement to evolving workforce needs.

  • Skills / Abilities 
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, or Organizational Development 
  • Experience in consulting or professional services environments preferred 
  • Experience designing learning strategies that support digital transformation, AI adoption, or large-scale change initiatives. 
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to connect learning, organizational change, and future of work trends 
  • Demonstrated success managing and developing teams; experience leading through others and building high-impact L&D functions 
  • Deep expertise in adult learning, instructional design, learning operations, and program evaluation 
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to consult, influence, and build trust with senior leaders 
  • Experience designing and implementing high-potential or leadership development programs 
  • Familiarity with digital learning tools (LMS, Articulate, Rise), vendor management, and change enablement

The compensation range indicated in this posting reflects the On-Target Earnings (“OTE”) for this role, which includes a base salary and any applicable target bonus amount. This OTE range may vary based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
