Summary:
The Director of Supply chain is a strategic leader responsible for oversight of end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, demand planning and distribution. Direct oversight responsibility for maximizing efficiency of all sku selection, planning, forecasting, purchasing, reporting and inventory management supporting all lines of business.Responsibilities:
Oversee and provide guidance to purchasing managers while maintaining department-wide industry knowledge and best practices for inventory management.
Ensure training and cross-training of all activities and responsibilities within the department. Build and mentor a high-performing supply chain team across multiple functions and geographies.
Oversee development and maintenance of automation to support all department forecasting, sourcing, procurement, invoicing, and reporting functions.
Collaborate with individual lines of business, construction, marketing, and finance using budgets, historical sales, and promotional plans to develop and document forecasts that ensure correct SKU mix (right item at right place at right time) over product and SKU life cycles.
Work with engineers to standardize and simplify service delivery. The outcome of this work should be fewer SKUs, lower inventory valuation, far fewer service delivery design variables, elevated service levels, and faster service delivery times.
Lead and direct customer internal collaboration and communication.
Lead and direct Purchasing relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent inventory supply, optimal order-to-delivery turnaround times, higher supplier service levels, adequate launch notifications, and completion of term sheets.
Develop reporting tools and metrics to allow other functional areas to participate and contribute to Purchasing strategy development/application. Champion the adoption of AI, digital tools, automation, and analytics to optimize supply chain efficiency and operations.
Minimize obsolescence through collaborative SKU management and improved SKU/product lifecycle planning.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
More than five years of progressive experience required in managing, planning, purchasing, and/or supply chain management in support of highly volatile product sales and supply.
Proven experience leading and supervising a team is required.
Negotiation experience required.
Ability to plan, organize, and handle multiple tasks independently.
Demonstrated decision-making and follow-up skills; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other departments within the company.
Competent with MS Excel; excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED
Experience in Telecom and/or Technical industry preferred.
Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other certification a plus
