POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall supply chain proficiency for the facility.

POSITION SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Preferred Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Business or related field or five years of Supply Chain Management Experience, or a combination of education and experience that would meet the skills required to perform the job.

INFECTION CONTROL AND COMPLIANCE

Demonstrates leadership accountability for hand hygiene compliance by actively monitoring performance data and achieving established organizational targets. Success in this area will be measured by quarterly compliance rates, corrective action follow-through, and overall improvement in infection prevention metrics.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

1. Reinforces HMHD's values, promotes HMHD's Compliance Plan and demonstrates proficiency in understanding of training materials and applicable laws and standards.
2. Completes the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs and ensures department employees complete their required education (in a timely manner) according to HMHD policies.
3. Assists the Compliance Officer and the Executive Compliance Committee in identifying "high risk" issues within his/her department.
4. Complies with all HIPAA standards.
5. Oversees all aspects of the supply chain operations; including purchasing, shipping & receiving, inventory control, distribution and mail room.
6. Oversees all aspects of the courier service to include mail pick up and delivery, lab, and bank deposits.
7. Manages supply chain operations in all specialty areas including; Surgical Services, Cath Lab, Imaging, Lab, Home Health and Medical Partners.
8. Reviews monthly reports on inventory control and purchasing to continually improve operations.
9. Serves as a "lean" advisor to departments.
10. Assist directors with supply utilization reports and opportunities.
11. Coordinates the purchase of all furniture for: waiting rooms and lobbies, patient rooms, nursing stations, and conference rooms.
12. Assist directors with service and supply contracts.
13. Recruits, hires, trains and develops staff to perform all supply chain functions.
14. Sets goals and objectives for the Materials Management Department.
15. Provides products and equipment sourcing for departments.
16. Assist departments with budget pricing and estimates.
17. Demonstrates responsibility through responsiveness to others and competent follow-up on matters requiring additional attention; contacts appropriate personnel, as required, to ensure continuity of supply chain processes.
18. Evaluates products in both a competitive and comparative manner in cooperation with user departments, using sound judgement and good supply chain practices.
19. Manages the capital equipment purchasing function, including HMHD poicies and procedures, and as applicable the Texas Local Governmnet Code; adhering to advertising and bidding requirements.
20. Assist directors with development of specifications for capital RFB's and RFP's considering requirements of users.
21. Serves as a supply chain consultant to department directors and managers on improvement of inventory control and supply spend.
22. Performs all duties assigned by Senior Leadership.

HAZARDOUS COMMUNICATION ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I have been instructed in the methods of detecting hazardous chemicals in my work area. I have been made aware of the physical and health hazards of chemicals in my work area. I have been instructed on measures to protect myself from hazardous chemicals in my work area (i.e., personal protective equipment, work practices, and engineering controls). I have been instructed on the hazard communication program (Right to Know laws). I have received training concerning the above items and understand the training. I know where the Hazardous Chemical list, this department’s Hazardous Communication program, and accompanying MSDS are located in my department.
