JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Strategy and Commercial Development is pivotal in driving strategic projects, commercial execution, and trade marketing strategies across LATAM Markets. This role involves:
- Strategic Coordination: Managing HQ-related events and aligning them with EPD's long-term business objectives.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Defining overarching strategies to build a sustainable business in LATAM Markets.
- Project Management: Leading organizational transformation initiatives and expanding geographic assets to enhance efficiency and margins.
- Sales Strategy Implementation: Developing consistent sales strategies, assessing country performance, and driving sales growth through commercial and trade initiatives.
- Liaison Role: Acting as a bridge between EPD's global strategy and LATAM teams, ensuring seamless rollout and coordination of global projects.
- Commercial Excellence: Designing, implementing, and monitoring commercial excellence initiatives.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports the business in defining and articulating the strategy and strategic imperatives, the Sales strategy and ensures the work streams that flow from these are executed across the organization. Additionally, preparation of Project Frameworks and executive briefing documents will be required.
- Identifies and conducts detailed design of strategic / transformational initiatives and projects, bringing in best practices and insights from internal and external sources (market, competition and other industries) into the project design.
- Leads BU internal and external cross-functional teams to assess optimal process and makes recommendations around operating set-up and ultimate end state.
- Continually inputs and refines the future vision of the BU. Develop structured processes to ensure sustainability of the business.
- Lead role in project management of all key projects across the BU in collaboration with the EPD Strategy management Office, enabling efficient and structured execution of objectives leveraging and ensuring consistency with the existing SMO resources
- Influences BU leadership team members on changes arising out of key project recommendations, with sound logic and supporting insights.
- Assesses what BU needs to do differently, what capabilities this will require and how this compares with BU organizational capabilities today
- Builds best in class capabilities and ensures best practice sharing.
- Establishes understanding, buy-in and commitment to sales strategy across global and local organization to successfully drive and lead the transformation.
- Initiates local implementation and execution of commercial strategy through identified key initiatives based on country-specific business reviews and observations focusing on sales performance enablers for traditional & trade business.
- Review and recommendation channel management initiatives from distribution and trade to E-commerce initiatives.
- Engages with key global functions to provide guidance and insights on sales & commercial related topics.
- Establishes sales benchmarks and drive consistency, and ensure optimization of sales characteristics.
- Initiates and leads globally launched Sales projects & initiatives.
- Leading event management related with HQ.
EDUCATION
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, engineering, Finance or equivalent.
- MBA from a reputed institute advantageous.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/OTC/Consumer sales and marketing or strategy.
- Solid operational experience working in commercial/strategic roles (BU Head, CM, GM, Commercial).
- Prior experience in driving strategic projects and cross functional teams is a must.
- Prior commercial experience in LATAM Markets is mandatory.
The base pay for this position is
$168,000.00 – $336,000.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
