Job Summary
Defines, implements, and owns the organization’s overall sourcing strategy and develops a procurement plan, the definition of requirements, the selection of suppliers, the development of offers, lead negotiator, the development/execution of contracts, and the management of contracts. This role may have responsibility for one or more of the following areas: production and aftermarket supply chains, indirect supply chain or new product development. Leads operations that build value-driven vendor partnerships focusing on risk management, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. This includes near term horizon (within the year) and out-going years. Responsible for the budget, order fulfillment, and/or inventory of area of responsibility. Responsible for initiating supply chain and/or supporting current supply chain for a several hundred million dollar annual spend.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Manage the delivery of product as part of the organization’s sourcing/procurement strategy for one or more of the areas of production and aftermarket supply chains, indirect supply chain or new product development.
- Develop and gain agreement to annual business plans for a function or substantial business area, ensuring alignment with strategy; quantify business outcomes (i.e. revenues or other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)); detail expense and headcount budgets; and develop business cases for key projects, ensuring cross-functional integration.
- Take responsibility for setting and managing area budgets so they align with organizational strategy
- Communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision and values; clarify the actions needed to implement it within the area of responsibility; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve the organization's business goals. Identify and manage stakeholders up to top management level, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions.
- Support the overall organizational strategy by developing and delivering operational plans and outcomes for a large portion of the business.
- Manage the delivery of a major part of the organization's supplier management program and/or product development program. Take personal responsibility for a small number of mission-critical strategic supplier relationships for the production/aftermarket supply chains, indirect supply chain and/or new product development
- Manage and report on the performance of the function / business area; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.
- Manage the development/training for direct reports
- Implement Risk Management throughout production/aftermarket supply chains
- Lead the development of partnering relationships with senior executives throughout the organization, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and ensuring that internal clients have access to high-quality advice and guidance to support in delivering business strategy and plans
- Define the detailed organization structure for a business area to align with corporate principles, define the relationship between elements of the organization, and define the responsibilities of senior managers, to enable the organization to achieve its business objectives.
- Identify the capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of a significant business area. Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Motivate others to develop their capabilities and fulfill their personal potential. Build capabilities elsewhere in the organization through mentoring and other informal methods.
- Define demonstrated, planned, and max capacities for suppliers
- Ensures Order Fulfillment for responsible commodities with the production and aftermarket supply chains
- Ensures adherence to budget
- Ensures adherence to inventory targets/budgets

- Bachelor's Degree required within Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent combination education and experience. Master's Degree preferred
- 12+ years’ experience that enables job holder to provide leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes and challenges.
- 7+ years direct leadership experience
