Position Summary

The Director of Strategic Project Support will support Select’s strategic growth, business development, investment evaluation, and commercialization efforts across Select Services and related business units. This full-time role is intended to provide dedicated strategic, analytical, and execution capacity in two primary areas:

1. Select Services strategic growth, business development, partner support, and commercialization

2. Corporate investment, portfolio development, opportunity evaluation, and governance

The anticipated allocation is approximately 16–20 hours per week supporting Select Services strategic growth initiatives and 16–20 hours per week supporting investment / portfolio development initiatives, with flexibility based on business needs.

Primary Areas of Responsibility

1. Select Services Strategic Growth, Business Development, and Commercialization Support

Support Select Services leadership in identifying, evaluating, and advancing strategic growth opportunities, customer opportunities, business development priorities, and commercialization concepts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help identify markets, customers, service offerings, and growth opportunities for Select Services.

  • Partner with Select Services leadership to evaluate where Select Services can expand or deepen its service offerings.

  • Support customer-facing business development efforts in partnership with designated leaders, including Carl, Jeff, or others as appropriate.

  • Help evaluate customer prioritization, market attractiveness, strategic fit, and resource requirements for potential growth initiatives.

  • Support development and management of strategic partner opportunities, including potential supply chain support for partners such as En Solucion if Select Services assumes a more prominent role.

  • Assist in building and managing supply chain or operating support models for strategic partners where Select Services is positioned to provide broader value.
  • Support business case development for new service lines, customer opportunities, strategic partnerships, or commercial concepts.
  • Help move ideas from prototype or concept to pilot, and from pilot to broader commercialization.
  • Provide project structure, follow-up, and accountability for Select Services initiatives that require cross-functional support.
  • Help translate broad strategic growth ideas into practical workplans, milestones, decision points, and measurable outcomes.
  • Support internal strategic initiatives, business development priorities, and cross-functional projects as assigned.

2. Investment and Portfolio Development

Support the intake, evaluation, prioritization, and governance of strategic investment opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships, and growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or support the review and evaluation of inbound investment opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic growth initiatives.

  • Conduct financial analysis, valuation assessments, sensitivity modeling, return-on-investment analysis, and business case development.

  • Evaluate opportunities through both strategic and financial lenses, including business fit, market opportunity, commercial potential, risk, resource requirements, and expected value creation.

  • Develop and maintain a standardized opportunity screening and prioritization framework, including scorecards, ranking matrices, and investment criteria.

  • Facilitate due diligence activities by coordinating internal subject matter experts and external advisors as needed.

  • Assess operational, commercial, financial, customer, supply chain, regulatory, and strategic risks associated with potential opportunities.

  • Prepare executive summaries, investment committee materials, recommendations, and decision-support documentation for leadership review.

  • Establish governance processes, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to track opportunity status, key assumptions, open questions, risks, and expected value creation.

  • Help leadership prioritize opportunities and allocate time, capital, and organizational resources to the highest-value initiatives.

  • Support portfolio management by tracking active opportunities, decisions, follow-ups, and post-decision execution needs.

3. Cross-Functional Strategic Execution

Provide structure and execution support for internal initiatives requiring coordination across multiple functions, entities, or business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create project plans, timelines, milestone tracking, and decision frameworks.

  • Coordinate workstreams across operations, finance, commercial, supply chain, quality, HR, legal, and other functional leaders as needed.

  • Identify barriers, unresolved decisions, resource needs, and accountability gaps.

  • Synthesize complex information into clear recommendations for executive leadership.

  • Help leadership move from discussion to decision, and from decision to execution.

  • Provide PMO-type support where the organization needs dedicated capacity to keep strategic work moving.

  • Maintain visibility to active projects, ownership, decision points, and follow-up actions.

4. Limited Digital Marketing / Digital Growth Support

Provide limited support to Select Family Foods or related business initiatives where digital strategy, website optimization, or customer acquisition support is needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with website performance, user experience, content structure, and conversion pathway optimization.

  • Support SEO strategy, including technical SEO, on-page optimization, keyword prioritization, content architecture, backlink development, and organic traffic growth.

  • Partner with internal teams and external agencies to provide website design guidance.

  • Help ensure digital assets align with brand standards, customer needs, and business objectives.

  • Review performance data and provide recommendations to improve engagement, discoverability, customer acquisition, and conversion.

  • Support digital marketing prioritization where limited resources require focus on the highest-impact opportunities.

  • Financial models, ROI analyses, and sensitivity assessments.

  • Due diligence summaries and recommendation memos.

  • Portfolio dashboard and governance process.

  • Project plans and milestone trackers.

  • Decision logs and follow-up action plans.

  • Website / SEO / digital growth improvement recommendations, as needed.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong background in strategy, operations, finance, business development, corporate development, or strategic ventures.

  • Experience evaluating business opportunities, partnerships, investments, acquisitions, or strategic growth initiatives.

  • Strong financial acumen, including financial modeling, valuation, capital allocation, ROI analysis, and investment assessment.

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate opportunities through both strategic and financial lenses.

  • Experience developing business cases, executive presentations, investment committee materials, or decision-support documents.

  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple functions and levels of an organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into practical recommendations.

  • Experience designing processes, governance frameworks, scorecards, ranking systems, dashboards, or portfolio management tools.

  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities or projects simultaneously while maintaining a disciplined evaluation process.

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping create structure where roles, processes, or opportunities are still being defined.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Customer-facing business development experience preferred.

  • Experience with commercialization, strategic ventures, supply chain development, or new market evaluation preferred.

  • Digital marketing, SEO, website optimization, or agency management experience helpful but not required.

Time Allocation

This is a full-time role. Initial time allocation is expected to be approximately:

·Select Services strategic growth / business development / commercialization: 40–50%

  • Investment and portfolio development: 40–50%

  • Cross-functional strategic execution / PMO-type support: As needed within the above workstreams

  • Digital marketing / digital growth support: Limited, as business priorities require

Actual allocation may shift based on business priorities, active projects, and leadership direction.

Direct Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have direct supervisory responsibility.
