Job Description

SoC Stratgic Planner to define and execute SoC and Firmware strategies and products across the corporate's various product lines.

Solidigm is a global leader in NAND flash memory and solid‑state storage solutions and a U.S. subsidiary of SK hynix. We are seeking a technically deep Director of Strategic Planning to help define the long‑term architecture and roadmap behind our next‑generation NVMe data‑center SSD platforms. In this senior individual contributor role, you will work at the intersection of silicon planning, firmware strategy, and system‑level storage architecture. You will shape future SSD controller platforms by translating system requirements, firmware needs, and customer workloads into clear, executable SoC and platform capability roadmaps. Your work will directly impact Solidigm’s ability to deliver high‑performance, power‑efficient storage solutions for hyperscale and enterprise customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Define long‑range SoC and firmware capability roadmaps for Solidigm’s NVMe SSD controller platforms.
  • Develop detailed planning specifications covering PCIe/NVMe interfaces, NAND flash management subsystems, DRAM controllers, ECC/LDPC engines, security blocks, power management, and performance instrumentation.
  • Partner closely with system architects to translate SSD‑level performance, power, latency, reliability, and endurance goals into silicon planning priorities and architectural trade‑offs.
  • Collaborate with firmware planners and architects to drive early hardware/software co‑design across the full firmware stack, including FTL, host interface, power management, telemetry, and security.
  • Work cross‑functionally with silicon design, validation, firmware, and product teams to ensure planning decisions are aligned, feasible, and executable.
  • Engage directly with hyperscale cloud and enterprise customers to understand workload requirements and platform constraints and incorporate those insights into future roadmaps.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource in customer discussions, clearly communicating architectural decisions, trade‑offs, and future capabilities.

  • Deep technical knowledge of NVMe, PCIe, NAND flash technologies (including QLC NAND), and SSD controller architectures.
  • Strong understanding of firmware concepts and hardware/software interactions within storage systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence complex, cross‑functional technical decisions as a senior individual contributor.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex architectural trade‑offs to engineering peers and customers.
