Director, Strategic Impact Partnerships (SIP), Implementation – AP Access

College Board – State & District Partnerships

 Location: Remote.

This is a Full Time role.

About the Team:

The State and District Partnerships (SDP) division at College Board is a dynamic and high-energy group dedicated to expanding opportunities for students by collaborating with educators in high schools, school districts, and state departments of education. Our team is committed to promoting the use of College Board programs and services, including the SAT Suite of Assessments, Advanced Placement (AP), and BigFuture. Our division is relentless in our pursuit of increasing the number of students who have access to these programs and ensuring our partners have the support they need to implement them effectively.

Within SDP, the Strategic Impact Partnerships (SIP) team provides leadership across the organization and aligns with internal and external partners to drive strategy that delivers access to students and educators nationwide. As the engine of alignment and innovation within SDP, SIP translates organizational priorities into actionable strategies that drive adoption, retention, and growth across regions.

As part of SIP, the new AP course portfolio plays a critical role in ensuring strong implementation and retention of AP courses. By supporting teachers, administrators, and districts, SIP ensures that courses such as AP Precalculus, English 10: AP Seminar, AP Business with Personal Finance, AP Cybersecurity, and AP African American Studies are delivered with fidelity, sustained at scale, and positioned for student success.

About the Opportunity:

As Director, Strategic Impact Partnerships – Implementation, AP Access, you will ensure retention and successful implementation of new AP courses— AP Precalculus, English 10: AP Seminar, AP Business with Personal Finance, AP Cybersecurity, and AP African American Studies. You will galvanize the teacher voice as the central driver of retention, building capacity so that student access and section goals are sustained and expanded.

Operating across SDP, you will provide dedicated resources at scale so that new AP courses not only launch but persist and grow year over year. A strategist and expert facilitator, you will translate organizational priorities into high-quality implementation experiences ensuring strong educator support leads directly to stronger student participation, sustained sections, and meaningful impact for schools and districts.

In this role, you will:

  • Leverage AP Program instructional resources (Course and Exam Description, AP Classroom, AP Teacher Communities, professional learning, score reporting) in ways that complement and extend the national program, building engagement and generating excitement among educators.

  • Prioritize the teacher experience as the foundation for galvanizing student interest, sustaining course retention, and driving growth in AP sections and participation.

Use Systems and Data (20%)

  • Conduct standard and complex data analysis to inform strategic recommendations, retention strategies, and progress monitoring.

  • Utilize Salesforce CRM to track implementation progress aligned to regional and organizational priorities, ensuring proactive follow-up on opportunities and needs while also tracking ROI and monitoring progress toward adoption and retention goals.

  • Use data insights to assess and drive continuous improvement, enhancing both internal effectiveness and external stakeholder satisfaction.

Special Projects (10%)

  • Manage divisional or regional initiatives assigned by leadership, with a focus on building and developing new work streams that align with organizational priorities.

About You:

You have:

  • 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in education (district, state, or nonprofit), with expertise in curriculum, implementation, assessment, or policy; former AP teaching experience ideal.

  • Demonstrated success in supporting retention and scaling of new programs or courses.

  • Strong understanding of the teacher experience and proven ability to design supports galvanizing both section and student growth.

  • Excellent collaboration and facilitation skills, with experience working directly with educators, administrators, and district/state leaders.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with comfort operating as an entrepreneurial self-starter in a fast-moving environment and proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
