The Director of Strategic Communications is responsible for leading Standard Nuclear’s external communications strategy, including company positioning, executive messaging, and market-facing materials. This role owns the development of a clear,

consistent narrative that reflects the company’s progress, strategy, milestones, and long-term value proposition. 

This is primarily a communications role. The Director will partner closely with executive leadership to shape how the company is represented to investors, partners, customers, media, and other external stakeholders. The role requires exceptional writing, strong business judgment, and the ability to translate complex company developments into credible, polished, and strategically useful communications. 

The ideal candidate has experience supporting communications in high-growth, public company, investor-facing, or complex business environments where messaging quality, accuracy, timing, and stakeholder confidence matter. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

Strategic Communications & Company Narrative 

  • Define and maintain Standard Nuclear’s external narrative, ensuring alignment with company strategy, milestones, and business priorities 
  • Translate technical, operational, financial, and commercial progress into clear, credible messaging for external audiences 
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across investor materials, public-facing content, executive communications, and company updates 
  • Continuously refine positioning based on company progress, stakeholder feedback, market conditions, and leadership priorities 
  • Help ensure communications are accurate, professional, and aligned with the company’s long-term strategy 

 

Investor & Market Communications 

  • Lead development of investor-facing materials, including pitch decks, company updates, strategic narratives, and supporting communications 
  • Partner with executive leadership and finance to support fundraising, investor engagement, and external stakeholder communications 
  • Prepare leadership for investor meetings, presentations, conferences, and other external engagements 
  • Support development of messaging around company milestones, financing activity, strategic partnerships, and business progress 
  • Bring public company, capital markets, or investor communications discipline to the company’s external materials and messaging process 

 

Executive Communications 

  • Work closely with the CEO, CFO, and executive leadership team to shape messaging, positioning, and communication priorities 
  • Draft, edit, and refine executive presentations, talking points, company updates, speeches, board-facing materials, and other high-visibility communications 
  • Ensure executive communications are clear, consistent, concise, and appropriate for the audience 
  • Help leadership communicate company strategy and progress in a way that is credible, polished, and easy to understand 
  • Manage sensitive and high-visibility communications with strong discretion and judgment 

 

Cross-Functional Partnership 

  • Partner with finance, engineering, operations, commercial, legal, and other teams to ensure communications are accurate and aligned with current company realities 
  • Gather information from technical and business teams and convert it into clear external messaging 
  • Coordinate review of high-impact communications with appropriate internal stakeholders 
  • Serve as a central point of coordination for external messaging and communications materials 
  • Help bridge technical, financial, and business content so external audiences receive a coherent company story 

 

Communications Infrastructure 

  • Build scalable communications processes, tools, templates, and review workflows as the company grows 
  • Establish standards for messaging, content development, presentation quality, and external communications review 
  • Maintain core company messaging, approved language, executive materials, and investor communication assets 
  • Evaluate and manage external communications partners, consultants, or agencies as needed 
  • Support development of a broader communications function over time 

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Finance, English, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field 
  • 8–12+ years of experience in strategic communications, corporate communications, investor relations, executive communications, financial communications, consulting, or a related field 
  • Experience in a public company, pre-IPO company, investor-facing environment, capital markets setting, or high-growth business strongly preferred 
  • Proven experience developing executive-level messaging, investor materials, company narratives, presentations, or external communications 
  • Strong understanding of business strategy, financial concepts, investor expectations, and market positioning 
  • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and presentation development skills 
  • Ability to translate complex business, technical, operational, and financial topics into clear and credible messaging 
  • Strong judgment and ability to manage sensitive, confidential, or high-visibility communications 
  • Experience working directly with executive leadership 
  • Experience in energy, manufacturing, industrial technology, aerospace, defense, infrastructure, or other complex sectors is a plus 
  • Nuclear industry experience is not required

The estimated starting base salary range for this role is $165,000 to $210,000 annually, less applicable withholdings and deductions. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, including experience, qualifications, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other job-related factors.


WORK ENVIRONMENT  

This role is based in Greenwich, CT and involves close collaboration with executive leadership, finance, engineering, and operations teams. 

The position requires ownership of high-impact external communications, coordination across multiple stakeholders, and participation in investor-facing activities. Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Communications, Engineering, or a related field
  • 8-12+ years of experience in strategic communications, investor relations, consulting, or a related field
  • Experience working with technical or industrial companies (energy, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or similar)
  • Proven experience supporting fundraising, investor communications, or executive-level messaging
  • Strong ability to understand and communicate complex technical and operational topics
  • Deep understanding of financial concepts, business strategy, and investor expectations
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills
  • Strong judgment and ability to manage sensitive and high-visibility communications
  • Experience working closely with executive leadership
