We are seeking a strategic, results-driven, and people-focused retail leader to oversee a portfolio of approximately 6 to 10 retail locations throughout the New Orleans market and surrounding region. This role is responsible for driving business performance, developing high-performing leaders, and delivering a consistent and exceptional customer experience across all locations.

The ideal candidate is passionate about creating meaningful connections between our employees, customers, and brand while balancing operational excellence with strong financial stewardship. As a key member of the retail leadership team, this individual will lead market-level strategy, talent development, sales growth, and execution across multiple locations, ensuring each store operates with a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

This leader will partner closely with cross-functional teams to support new initiatives, optimize store operations, and identify opportunities to strengthen market performance. They will serve as a trusted coach to field leadership teams, helping build organizational capability while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience, employee retention, and profitability.

This position operates in a hybrid environment, requiring regular travel throughout the market with a combination of time spent in stores and remote administrative work.

Candidates must reside in the St. Louis metropolitan area or be willing to relocate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Representative of the retail organization, providing insight, feedback, leading, developing, and inspiring a team of Market Managers, General Managers, and retail leaders across approximately 6 to 10 locations, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and performance.
  • Drive market sales, profitability, and operational performance through effective execution of business strategies, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Own the retail P&L across assigned locations, including revenue growth, labor management, expense control, and overall financial performance.
  • Analyze key business metrics and trends to identify opportunities, address performance gaps, and implement action plans that improve results.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to direct and indirect reports.
  • Build leadership bench strength by identifying high-potential talent, creating succession plans, and supporting career development across the organization.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Human Resources to attract, hire, develop, and retain top talent while fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace culture.
  • Ensure a consistent and elevated customer experience across all locations by reinforcing service standards, coaching field leaders, and evaluating customer feedback and business trends.
  • Champion company culture, values, and employee engagement initiatives while promoting a people-first environment focused on growth, recognition, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with Retail Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, Compliance, and other cross-functional partners to successfully execute company initiatives, new programs, and operational improvements.
  • Support new store openings, store transitions, and market growth initiatives while ensuring operational readiness and strong business performance.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Conduct regular store visits to evaluate business performance, coach leaders, assess customer experience standards, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Leverage data, reporting, and field observations to develop business cases and recommendations that drive sustainable growth and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a strategic partner and representative, and provide recommendations to senior leadership regarding business performance, market opportunities, and organizational needs.
  • Lead through change with a solutions-oriented mindset, effectively communicating priorities, managing expectations, and driving execution across multiple locations.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience leading retail teams, with a clearly defined vision and passion for the retail experience.
  • 8 - 10 years of experience managing multiple geographies and complex retail P&L.
  • Demonstrated success developing high-performing leaders and building succession plans within a multi-unit retail environment.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing labor, expenses, profitability, and revenue growth across multiple locations.
  • A people-first leader who understands how to motivate, inspire, and hold teams accountable.
  • Possesses excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to create and articulate how to turn any challenge into an opportunity.
  • Experience supporting store openings, market expansion, organizational growth, or large-scale operational initiatives preferred.
  • Experience in cannabis, specialty retail, hospitality, luxury retail, healthcare retail, or other regulated consumer-facing industries preferred.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Retail Operations, or similar area
    • Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to travel via vehicle or plane as needed.
  • Alternate sitting or standing at will.
  • Keyboarding.
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times
  • May require occasional extended hours based on business needs
