Director of Staff Development (DSD) / Infection Prevention Nurse (IP Nurse)

Full-Time | San Bruno, CA
Pay Rate: $90-$125K Annually

Come join our GREAT team! We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Staff Development (DSD) / Infection Prevention Nurse to join our skilled nursing facility in San Bruno, California. This leadership role is responsible for staff education, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, and supporting quality resident care in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Position Requirements

  • Current and active California LVN License in good standing

  • Director of Staff Development (DSD) Certification

  • Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

  • APIC Certification in Infection Prevention preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Commitment to treating all residents with dignity, respect, and compassion

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor facility-wide staff education and in-service training programs.

  • Interview, hire, onboard, and orient new employees.

  • Maintain training records and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with the Administrator and Director of Nursing to meet daily staffing and productivity goals.

  • Review and assist with the creation of daily staffing schedules.

  • Attend facility meetings and serve on committees as required.

  • Ensure compliance with annual OSHA, CDC, TB management, bloodborne pathogen, and hazard communication training requirements.

  • Oversee infection prevention and control programs throughout the facility.

  • Implement recommendations from the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee related to staff education and competency development.

  • Provide direct resident care as needed when not performing DSD duties.

  • Represent the department in leadership and interdisciplinary meetings.

  • Maintain a professional, positive, and calm demeanor when interacting with residents, families, staff, visitors, and regulatory agencies.

  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of resident information.

  • Follow all facility policies, procedures, and infection control protocols.
