Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting to join our finance team who has strong financial expertise, excellent communication, reporting skills, and the ability to collaborate across HQ and local team members.

As a key member of SRA Finance team, this senior level role will lead the SRA finance strategy, identify new areas for improvement, and present the strategic plans & opportunities to the executive team. You will have the opportunity to work closely with internal and external business and technology leaders to shape Samsung’s vision for the future of our most innovative businesses.

This role requires a hands-on leader to work with a staff of roughly 15 people. This person will have a fair amount of latitude to organize/re-organize the finance function to maximize efficiency. The vision is for this person to act as doer/manager/leader in this entrepreneurial environment. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the efforts of Managing SRA budget and GBM Fundings. This will include working with department heads, build strong relationships with corporate finance teams and working on other affiliates.
  • Oversee the Accounting Department and ensure that financial results are prepared in an accurate and timely manner monthly, quarterly and annually. The results will be prepared in accordance with GAAP standards and guidelines set forth by management and outside auditors and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the tech industry.
  • Provide a framework for the department staff for the preparation of timely and accurate consolidated financial reports and disclosures, analysis of budgets and financial trends.
  • Oversee financial Audit process and partner with external firms.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization and strategic direction: i.e., new business opportunities, reviewing existing businesses and operations, tax impacts, etc.).
  • Take a lead role in the development and progress monitoring of the budget planning process, advising the executive management team on the impact of assumptions proposed for the Plan and Budget including the impact of the introduction of new programs/strategies.
  • Oversee compliance of income tax, sales/use and property taxes, including monthly accrual, timely remittance of amounts owed, extensions, reporting, and audits.
  • Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline
  • Evaluate finance division structure for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 10+ years of professional work experience in Finance (FP&A), Accounting/Tax, preferably in a global tech company 
  • Demonstrated track record in leading finance/accounting teams within Financial Services
  • Deep accounting background and experience. 
  • Experience in producing Consolidated Annual Financial Statements consistent with US GAAP standards
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Experience in Fixed Asset management, forecasting, and SEC reporting
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability and willingness to travel

Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.
