About The Role
Xaira is seeking a Therapeutics Portfolio Manager who will develop and oversee end to end program strategy. The successful candidate will provide drug discovery and development expertise as well as project management and operational support across the therapeutics portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
- Define timelines, resourcing requirements, and risk mitigation strategies across the therapeutics portfolio.
- Ensure that team governance structures enable effective program execution and efficient decision-making.
- Accountable for Xaira discovery and early clinical development program performance, risk management, administration, financial management and issue resolution.
- Prioritize lifecycle management initiatives, including evaluating the business case for additional investments across Xaira's existing clinical development portfolio.
- Proactively identify resources to support timely execution of experimental plans and the progression of therapeutics assets towards early clinical development candidates.
- Partner with key collaborators including R&D leadership, clinical & regulatory, and commercial teams to identify, evaluate and prioritize new early clinical development assets.
- Provide scheduled (i.e., quarterly/annual reviews) and ad-hoc program status reporting to the Executive Management Team and Board of Directors, citing progress towards program goals/ critical metrics, risk identification with planned mitigation(s), and providing rationale for timeline and budget variances.
- Partner with Finance and Business Operations to support the management of all financial aspects of Xaira's development programs including annual financial planning, i.e., 3-year long-range plans and 1-year budgets.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. required with meaningful cross-functional program/project leadership experience.
- 10+ years of prior experience in portfolio management and/or business development operations.
- Drug discovery and development experience in multiple therapeutic areas, ideally across large and small molecule modalities.
- Combines attention to detail with big-picture strategic perspective and enterprise mindset.
- Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources, communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner.
- Proven financial, budget and resource planning experience.
Compensation
The specific compensation package for this role depends on experience, qualifications and level. We anticipate the compensation range to be $200,000 to $300,000 per year.
