Title and Summary
Director, Specialist Sales
Your role: The Director, SME Specialist Sales is dedicated to NE division and drives commercial success and market penetration of our products and solutions in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and the Baltics. This role sits at the intersection of BD, Account Management, and customer engagement, ensuring that our solutions meet local market needs while aligning with global and regional business objectives. This role will have a dotted line reporting into VP, Customers Solutions Centre in the NE to ensure customer centricity and combining products into holistic customer propositions.
As a Director, Specialist Sales you are a sales-driven professional with a deep understanding of local market dynamics, customer needs, and SME product positioning. You will work closely with Account Management and Business Development teams, SME regional product managers, Customer Solutions Centre, and key market stakeholders to develop and execute go-to-market strategies, drive volume and revenue growth, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Things you do:
Develop and execute our Small Business product strategy for Sweden and Nordics & Baltics in cooperation with country management, account teams and product teams
Connect the worlds: make sure our market strategy is aligned with Mastercard's global and Europe strategy and ensure the market gets the central support required. Work with peers in adjacent functions to "connect the dots" to vividly sketch out a compelling vision of a world beyond cash
Lead strategic projects and be a pioneer in the field of product development, product differentiation and innovation
Work with your team and the account teams to build exciting customer pitches including defining the value proposition, business case and overall storyline
Develop understanding of end-to-end product lifecycle, actively work to improve user experience and processes
Prepare launches and monitors product performance, adoption, and operational health
Support and participate in post-launch reviews and ensures feedback is reincorporated into enhancements
Own and manage product documentation ensuring it is clear and easily consumable by product, cross-functional and engineering teams
Be the ambassador of your products in Sweden and Nordics & Baltics: educate and inspire the team and market about the value or of our SME solutions suite
Plan and track our product performance and how we perform against targets
Stay curious: watch the market, watch trends and bring new ideas to the table on how we can differentiate, grow and innovate our product universe
Things we expect:
Interest and passion for payments, banking, financial services, e-commerce and all things digital.
Good understanding on how to manage a small business and tools available to support key activities, especially financial related concepts and flows like: cash flow management, accounting systems, B2B payments.
Experience in Strategy / Management Consulting is desired, but not necessary'
Ingenuity, curiosity, agility, creativity and a real team player attitude
Willingness to learn, develop and get involved and roll up your sleeves
Business acumen with the ability to create and communicate solutions that meet real customer needs - excellent command of the relevant business tools such xls. and ppt.
Strategic thinking and outstanding communication skills on all levels
Fluent English and Swedish/Danish, more languages are optional
Ability to effectively work and build relationships in multicultural matrix organization
A good sense of humor paired with strong work ethic and ambition to "make a difference"
And yes, MBA or Master or Bachelor degree
You will be based in Stockholm, Sweden or Copenhagen, Denmark with occasional travelling required

Skills Required

  • Passion for payments, banking, financial services and e-commerce
  • Good understanding of small business management and financial concepts (cash flow, accounting systems, B2B payments)
  • Experience in strategy or management consulting
  • Strong business acumen and ability to create and present value propositions and business cases
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels
  • Fluent English and Swedish or Danish
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural matrix organization
  • Degree (Bachelor, Master, or MBA)
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to learn, be hands-on and roll up sleeves
