Are you an accomplished sourcing leader with the expertise to strengthen supplier performance, improve cost effectiveness, and support reliable supply in an international environment? We are seeking a Director of Sourcing to lead strategic sourcing activities, supplier management, contract negotiations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. Based in Switzerland or in the UK, this role will partner closely with Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to support business growth, supply continuity, and operational excellence.
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans that support supplier development, cost containment, geographic purchasing strategies, supply continuity, and long-term business objectives.
- Lead supplier performance management programs, including scorecards, business reviews, improvement plans, escalation processes, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage supplier selection, qualification, and negotiation activities, including RFP/RFQ processes, contract terms, service levels, quality expectations, and risk mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with Quality and other stakeholders to plan supplier audits, monitor findings, and ensure timely completion of agreed improvement actions.
- Partner with Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, and other functions to support new product launches, supplier readiness, material availability, and timeline alignment.
- Lead, coach, and develop the sourcing team while promoting accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and ethical sourcing practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Significant experience in sourcing, procurement, supplier management, supply chain, or a related function, including supplier negotiations and sourcing strategy development.
- Strong understanding of supplier performance management, supplier audits, corrective actions, contract discussions, and continuous improvement practices.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with teams such as Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and Operations.
- People leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, team development, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency with procurement systems, ERP tools, supplier management platforms, and standard business software, with the ability to operate effectively in Switzerland-based and international business environments.
