Job Summary
Hitachi Americas is seeking a seasoned marketing leader to serve as the Director of Solutions Marketing. This senior-level role is critical in articulating and promoting Hitachi’s cross-portfolio solutions across Energy, Mobility, Industrial, and Digital sectors. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Hitachi Americas, the Director will shape and communicate Hitachi’s innovation and societal value to external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in marketing complex digital and AI-driven solutions that span physical and digital domains. This role requires exceptional matrix management skills, collaboration across Hitachi group companies, and a deep understanding of modern software solutions, industrial AI, and IT-OT data integration. Knowledge of Hitachi’s key industry verticals, such as Energy, Mobility, and Industrial Products, is highly desirable. The Director will lead efforts to craft a cohesive narrative that underscores Hitachi’s leadership in social infrastructure and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a solutions marketing strategy aligned with Hitachi’s vision and objectives.
Create a compelling narrative that communicates Hitachi’s cross-portfolio solutions and societal impact.
Advise the CMO and executive leadership on marketing strategies for digital and AI solutions.
Content Development & Thought Leadership:
Curate and manage high-quality content describing Hitachi’s solutions for internal and external audiences.
Lead the creation of marketing collateral, including videos, presentations, tradeshow demos, white papers, case studies, and thought leadership articles.
Oversee content for events, conferences, social media campaigns, and sales enablement materials.
Collaboration & Matrix Management:
Build strong relationships across Hitachi group companies to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Manage external agencies and vendors to deliver impactful marketing campaigns and creative assets.
Marketing Execution:
Develop narratives and drive marketing initiatives for cross-portfolio solutions, including promotions, events, and campaigns.
Act as a subject matter expert and spokesperson for promoted solutions as needed.
Leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and marketing effectiveness.
Industry Expertise:
Stay informed about trends in industrial AI, IoT, IT-OT data integration, and related technologies.
Communicate the benefits of IT-OT data integration, edge-to-cloud solutions, and data management systems.
Qualifications
Experience:
10+ years in marketing or product management, with expertise in:
Solutions spanning software, digital, and industrial sectors.
Industrial IoT and IT-OT data integration.
Industrial automation, manufacturing, and robotics.
Data center solutions, edge-to-cloud systems, and hybrid data management.
Digital engineering, consulting, or digital services and solution delivery.
Heavy-data-producing verticals such as energy, utilities, and transportation.
Technical Knowledge:
Solid understanding of AI tools and their applications in productivity, inferencing (at edge), and model building (LLMs, SLMs, etc.).
Expertise in software and data, including structured and unstructured data, DataOps, ETL, and data analysis/reporting.
Familiarity with storage technologies and cybersecurity is a plus.
Skills:
Exceptional storytelling and content creation abilities, with a proven ability to simplify complex solutions. Candidates should provide examples of their work to demonstrate this capability.
Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering results in fast-paced environments.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders.
Education:
A strong technical foundation is preferred, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. An MBA in business or marketing is a strong plus.

For California only (as required by California’s Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): A good faith estimate of the expected salary for this position in our California office salary range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire is $204,720 - $255,900. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
