We’re looking for a Director of Solutions Engineering to lead and scale our small, high-impact pre-sales engineering team. This is a highly strategic & tactical player-coach leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, customer engagement, and enterprise sales.
You’ll lead a small, scrappy, high-performing team of solutions engineers while remaining deeply involved in complex customer conversations, technical discovery, demos, proof of concepts, and executive-level deal strategy. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves on critical enterprise opportunities while coaching and elevating the broader team.
As our Director of Solutions Engineering, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of solutions engineers focused on enterprise customer acquisition and expansion
- Serve as a player-coach by actively participating in strategic customer engagements, technical discovery, product demos, architectural discussions and proof of concepts
- Partner closely with sales leadership and account executives to drive complex enterprise deals from initial qualification through technical validation and solution alignment
- Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to prospects and customers across fraud prevention, identity verification, digital trust, and transaction security workflows
- Translate customer pain points and business requirements into scalable technical solutions leveraging Proof’s platform capabilities
- Establish and continuously iterate upon pre-sales best practices, demo strategy, technical enablement, and operational processes to improve team effectiveness and scalability
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, customer success to influence roadmap priorities and improve customer outcomes
- Support expansion into new verticals, use cases, and strategic partnerships
- Represent Proof at customer meetings, executive presentations, conferences, and industry events
As our Director of Solutions Engineering, you should have:
- 7+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or other customer-facing technical roles within enterprise SaaS, fintech, or payments environments
- Experience leading or mentoring solutions engineers in a high-growth environment
- Strong technical fluency across areas such as fraud prevention, identity verification, fintech infrastructure, payments, APIs, authentication, and digital trust
- Proven experience supporting enterprise sales motions and navigating complex technical buying cycles with executive stakeholders
- Experience working with banks, financial institutions, fintech companies, or highly regulated industries
- Strong consultative discovery skills with the ability to align technical solutions to customer business objectives
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to to engage with both technical and business stakeholders
- Hands-on approach with a genuine passion for technology, customer engagement, and technical problem solving
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced evolving environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
