Role Overview

We’re seeking a seasoned and strategic Director of Solutions Engineering to lead and scale our pre-sales engineering function. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between product capabilities and customer needs, ensuring prospects and clients fully understand the impact and implementation of Hebbia’s AI platform.

You will lead and build a team of solution engineers, working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to win complex deals and deploy tailored, scalable solutions for top-tier enterprises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers.
  • Pre-Sales Strategy: Own the technical sales strategy, including discovery, solution design, POCs, demos, and RFP responses.
  • Client Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to prospective and current clients; communicate the business and technical value of Hebbia’s products.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product and Engineering to provide feedback from the field and shape roadmap priorities.
  • Sales Enablement: Develop and scale repeatable technical sales playbooks, assets, and onboarding materials.
  • Enterprise Expertise: Navigate complex procurement, security, and deployment discussions with large financial and legal institutions.
Qualifications
  • 8–12+ years in Solutions Engineering or Sales Engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep experience in B2B SaaS + AI, ideally with enterprise clients in finance, consulting, or legal.
  • Ability to manage and scale a team in a fast-paced, technical, and high-stakes environment.
  • Strong understanding of the AI/ML landscape, LLMs, and natural language technologies a big plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills, especially in translating technical capabilities into business value.
  • Comfortable interfacing with C-level stakeholders, engineers, and end-users alike.
  • Startup DNA — bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and high standards.
