About the role

As the Director, Solutions Engineering you will report into the CRO and lead a global team of Solutions Engineers. The Director, Solutions Engineering is a leadership position responsible for driving overall SE strategy, vision, daily execution, and enablement of the SE team. The Director will play a pivotal role in shaping a growing organization, and must be able to work cross-functionally with executives to develop and implement sales strategies that drive efficiency and performance improvement across multiple operational and financial metrics. This individual will work daily with other senior sales leadership, marketing, and product teams as well as Crunchtime executives to drive continued growth through an integrated, cross-departmental strategy.

As the Director of Solution Engineering, you will play a critical role in the success of our organization by supporting our Solution Engineering team with aligning Crunchtime’s solutions to meet the business needs of our clients. Our Solutions Engineering team is responsible for the technical evaluation of our solution, including deep discovery to understand each client’s goals, challenges and business pain, collaborating with sales and leadership on strategy and presentations, and developing creative, story-based product demos that are tailored to each customer and focused on the value that our solution brings to the client. This role is responsible for coaching and developing the Solution Engineers, aligning on strategic initiatives both within the Sales Management team as well as cross functionally with Product and Product Marketing and supporting the strategy of our largest opportunities. The Director of Solution Engineering is an individual who is self-motivated, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and is eager to make a positive impact.

 

What you’ll do as the Director of Solution Engineering

  • Support your team as they partner with Account Executives to understand customers needs and requirements, and develop a strategy to position Crunchtime’s solutions to meet those needs
  • Partner with the Sales Management team in facilitating our sales methodology and strategy
  • Work with Marketing to align teams needs in facilitating the technical win through business value
  • Coach and enable your team of SEs to continuously improve
  • Provide feedback to Product around common trends within our prospects and customers
  • Support Marketing events including webinars, conferences and trade shows
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems and gain buy-in of colleagues across functions.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experienced leader in the technology/SaaS space with progressive technical leadership responsibilities and expertise working with cross-functional teams to create and drive the business strategy and execution
  • Previous experience in pre-sales as a solution or sales engineer
  • Previous experience managing a pre-sales solution or sales engineering team
  • Exceptional communication skills including written, oral and presentation
  • Track record of building successful teams
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience
  • Travel, as necessary

Nice to haves

  • Previous experience supporting cloud sales in the hospitality industry
  • Experience with Inventory Management, ERP, LMS, and/or operations execution solutions
  • Technical skills including basic programming in web-based technologies
  • Experience with the Demo 2 Win framework
