About the Director of Software Engineering:

• Defines and drives the strategic vision and roadmap for scalable software systems across the organization, aligning technical direction with overarching business goals.

• Leads, mentors, and grows high-performing software engineering organizations, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and engineering best practices.

• Champions engineering excellence and establishes governance and standards to ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and impactful software solutions.

• Leverages deep knowledge of machine learning to enhance engineering solutions, influence data-driven product features, and bridge the gap between engineering and advanced analytics.

About you as the Director of Software Engineering:

• Translates business strategy into a technical software vision, exercising expert judgment to guide the organization through complex and high-stakes decisions.

• Builds and leverages extensive networks with executive leaders to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic partnerships.

• Drives the design and delivery of scalable platforms, using persuasion and influence to gain alignment and move technical initiatives forward.

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering or closely related disciplines, with strong expertise in machine learning as a valuable asset that will be leveraged in the role.

• Requires a minimum of 5 years of formal people management and leadership experience, including managing other managers.

• Proven track record of defining software engineering strategy and architecture, leading teams to successfully build and deploy large-scale systems in a production environment.

• Expertise in one or more domains such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, or recommender systems.

• Deep familiarity with modern MLOps principles, big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
