About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Software Engineering to lead our engineering teams, drive technical excellence, and align software development with business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software architecture, cloud technologies, DevOps, AI/ML, and team leadership, with a proven ability to scale engineering organizations in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, high-performance software systems.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor engineering managers and senior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. A proactive, agile, consultative mindset and operate as a player-coach.
- Strategic Roadmap: Partner with executives and product leaders to define technical vision, roadmap, and long-term engineering strategy.
- Cloud & DevOps: Drive cloud-native development (AWS, Azure, GCP) and optimize CI/CD pipelines for efficiency and security.
- AI/ML & Data Engineering: Experience with AI/ML integration, data pipelines, and large-scale distributed systems is a plus.
- Scalability & Performance: Ensure systems are built for reliability, scalability, and security, leveraging best practices in microservices, container orchestration and infrastructure-as-code.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to align engineering efforts with company objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles (Senior Manager, Engineering Director, or similar).
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), DevOps, and modern software architectures.
- Experience with AI/ML, big data, and data governance is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of scaling engineering teams (50+ engineers) in high-growth environments.
- Deep knowledge of Python, Java, Go, or similar languages, along with modern frameworks.
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and infrastructure best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
