Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams comprising Frontend Engineers, Backend Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, BI Engineers, QA Engineers, SREs, and Program Managers.
- Drive end-to-end ownership of multiple new product builds — from architectural design and implementation to launch and scaling.
- Champion an AI-first development lifecycle — using AI tools to accelerate spec writing, coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and monitoring.
- Build and maintain robust, scalable, cloud-native, multi-tenant platforms using a robust stack including but not limited to:
- Backend: Java / Node.js
- Database: PostgreSQL on AWS RDS, MongoDB
- Messaging: Kafka
- Frontend: React, React Native, Flutter
- Ensure efficient deployment and operations leveraging AWS, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker), and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform/CDK).
- Operate with a lean team of senior, AI-adept, hands-on contributors, emphasizing rapid iteration and quick feedback loops over traditional long release cycles.
- Work closely with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to align tech execution with customer impact.
- Ensure the team adheres to strong engineering rigor, high quality standards, and secure coding practices while optimizing for delivery velocity.
Skills
- Proven experience shipping 0→1 products in a startup or scale-up environment, with a hands-on approach to solving problems and making architecture decisions.
- Strong hands-on, full-stack, technical expertise in:
- Building platforms using Spring Boot or Node.js
- Designing and scaling RDBMS
- Building cross-platform frontends with React, React Native, and Flutter
- Experience with cloud-based deployments and CI/CD processes.
- Comfort with architectures that are cloud-optimized — able to architect high-performance systems.
- A strong grasp of AI toolchains and developer productivity tools and hands-on experience with Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, GPT-based code generation, or test writing.
- Ability to hire, coach, and grow senior ICs and leaders across engineering functions.
- An execution mindset — able to ruthlessly prioritize, move fast, and iterate quickly based on feedback and data.
Experience and Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4 years in engineering leadership roles overseeing multi-disciplinary teams.
- B.Tech/M.Tech in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
