Director of Engineering (Remote, IN)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead our technical teams and drive innovation in web application and technology solution development. The ideal candidate will provide strategic technical leadership, manage engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with company goals
- Lead technical architecture and design for IT applications and enterprise systems
- Guide the adoption of AI and GenAI, technologies and best practices
- Establish and enforce technical standards across engineering teams
Team Management
- Manage and mentor engineering teams in data, backend, and frontend systems
- Build a collaborative and innovative engineering culture
- Support talent development and career growth for engineering staff
- Implement effective team processes and performance management
Operational Excellence
- Optimize engineering workflows and methodologies
- Establish and track key performance metrics for engineering teams
- Manage engineering budgets and resources
- Collaborate with product management to deliver technology solutions
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of engineered systems
Requirements
Experience & Education
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in developing large-scale web applications
- Strong technical expertise across multiple technology platforms
Leadership Skills
- Strong strategic thinking and technical vision
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities
- Ability to drive process improvements and team performance
- Experience managing engineering budgets and resources
Technical Expertise
- Comprehensive understanding of modern software development practices
- Proficiency in cloud computing and infrastructure technologies
- Knowledge of data engineering and analytics
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices towards IT systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with agile methodologies
- Strong background in IT services or enterprise software
