Manny Cantor Center's  Community Programs and Social Services Department includes social work and case management, adult education and family programming, free clothing at ReLoved Boutique, volunteering and civic engagement opportunities, and special initiatives to help and empower our community. The department works to be responsive to the changing needs of community members, developing programs, initiatives, and interventions that meet people where they are, providing opportunities to be supported and come together. 

We are seeking an experienced full-time Director of Social Work Services who will provide leadership and clinical oversight for the social work team at MCC, with a primary focus on supporting children and families through a whole-person, trauma-informed, and relationship-centered approach. This leadership role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating innovative social work programs and services that address the emotional, behavioral, and practical needs of the community. Additionally, they will work closely with program staff to help develop programs and services that are responsive to trends in community needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Leadership & Supervision

  • Provide leadership and oversight of social work services at MCC, including clinical and task supervision of social workers, case managers, licensed clinical staff, and interns, ensuring high-quality, ethical, confidential, and evidence-informed practice.
  • Oversee short-term individual and group therapy, complex case assessment and intervention planning, and other clinical services in response to client and program needs.
  • Manage MCC’s social work internship program, including recruitment and placement, relationships with academic programs, supervision, and development of a comprehensive learning experience.

Professional Development & Partnerships

  • Collaborate with MCC program leaders, particularly in Early Childhood, Older Adults, and Teens, to identify mental health and psychosocial needs and develop appropriate social work services, therapeutic groups, workshops, and other interventions.
  • Lead professional development for social work staff, case managers, and interns, including identifying training needs and developing or facilitating relevant learning opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community agencies, mental health providers, educational institutions, and other Educational Alliance sites (like Community Schools) to strengthen referral networks, expand access to services, and create training and service opportunities.

Quality & Data Management

  • Ensure accurate, timely, and confidential documentation, data collection, and reporting in accordance with agency and regulatory standards, while using data and emerging trends to inform service delivery and priorities.
  • In partnership with Senior Director, address emerging client and community needs, and strengthen coordination and access to services across programs and sites.
  • Develop and maintain efficient systems for communication, organization, and information sharing across the social work team and MCC, ensuring timely coordination, visibility of progress and outcomes, and opportunities to share successes and impact.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive clinical experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. required
  • Expertise in working with families required
  • Demonstrated success in program development, staff supervision, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Deep understanding of issues affecting families such as housing instability, domestic violence, and substance use.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in or with early childhood or other educational settings is highly preferred.
  • Spanish speaking preferred.

Skills Required
