We are seeking an experienced Director of SEO to lead and scale our SEO function across multiple client accounts. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing SEO performance, managing a cross-functional team, and ensuring high-quality execution across all deliverables.
The ideal candidate is not only technically strong but also a proven leader who can drive strategy, improve team output, and confidently represent SEO in client-facing environments.
SEO Strategy & Performance
Own the end-to-end SEO strategy across all client accounts
Develop and implement scalable frameworks across:
Technical SEO
On-page optimization
Content strategy
Authority building / link acquisition
Ensure all strategies are aligned to business outcomes (traffic, conversions, revenue)
Continuously identify opportunities to improve performance and efficiency
Team Leadership & Management
Lead and manage a distributed SEO team, including:
SEO Specialists
Content Writers
Link Building resources
Set clear KPIs and performance expectations across the team
Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching, and development
Identify hiring needs and support team growth as the function scales
Quality Assurance & Delivery
Establish and enforce quality standards across all SEO deliverables
Review outputs to ensure they are client-ready and strategically sound
Eliminate low-quality or templated work and elevate overall output quality
Standardize processes and workflows across accounts
Client Engagement
Participate in key client calls and strategic discussions
Translate SEO performance into clear business insights
Partner with Account Managers to support retention and growth
Act as the senior SEO voice within the organization
Process & Operational Excellence
Build and refine SOPs for core SEO activities
Improve reporting frameworks and performance tracking
Introduce tools, automation, and best practices to enhance delivery
Ensure consistent execution across all accounts
Experience and Skills & Expertise
5+ years of experience in SEO
2+ years in a leadership or team management role
Proven experience managing multiple client accounts (agency experience preferred)
Strong understanding of:
Technical SEO
Content strategy and optimization
Keyword research and search intent
Link building strategies
Ability to develop and execute high-level SEO strategies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams (4+ people preferred)
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Comfortable in client-facing environments and executive-level discussions
Ability to simplify complex SEO concepts into clear, actionable insights
Skills Required
