Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of UI/UX to lead our product design function. This role will primarily focus on elevating our user interface design on the external facing products at the heart of our business, while also ensuring an outstanding user experience on all sides of our multi-sided customer network.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in UI design, coupled with a solid understanding of UX principles and experience in a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Build, lead and mentor a focused high-performing team of UI and UX designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design environment.

• Design: Both create and oversee designs and the implementation of visually compelling and user-friendly interfaces across all digital products.

• Planning: Plan, build and prioritize work to meet feature releases and timelines.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, developers, marketing and other stakeholders to ensure design alignment with business goals and user needs.

• Research: Conduct and analyse user research and usability testing to inform design decisions, product strategy and feature development, ensuring products address customer needs and meet the latest exceptional user experience and user interface design standards.

• Strategy: Help to develop and articulate the UI & UX vision and strategy for our products, create and maintain design guidelines, and ensure consistency and continued alignment to business goals across all products and platforms.

• Stakeholder Management: Present design concepts and strategies to senior leadership and other stakeholders to build consensus and product excitement

Ideal Candidate:

• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in UI/UX design, with at least 2 years in a leadership/ team management role

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or a related field.

• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or other relevant software.

• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of UI design projects and a deep understanding of design principles.

• Solid experience in UX methodologies, including user research, usability testing, and particularly wireframing and prototyping.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing talent.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Gaming, Gamification and/ or B2B digital tooling.

• Knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
