Director, Engineering Operations
Location: Pune, India
The Opportunity
We're seeking an engineering leader who thrives on building high-performing teams that ship quality software at scale. You'll lead a multi-team engineering organization operating in a fast-paced, high-volume release environment. This role is about engineering excellence — building the systems, processes, and culture that enable teams to deliver reliably and efficiently.
The teams you'll lead have strong domain expertise. What we're looking for is a leader who brings world-class engineering practices: rigorous quality standards, modern development workflows, smart automation, and efficient team structures. You'll partner with experienced managers and senior engineers to elevate how we build and ship.
What You'll Do
Raise the bar on engineering quality: Strengthen code review practices, testing frameworks, and release processes to ensure consistency and reliability across all teams.
Drive efficiency and smart resource allocation: Evaluate team structures and workflows to maximize throughput. Identify where manual effort can be replaced with automation and tooling.
Modernize the development stack: Evolve CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and practices to reflect current industry standards. Ensure teams are equipped with modern, efficient workflows.
Implement AI-assisted development: Evaluate and deploy AI tooling (copilot, automated code review, test generation) to increase developer productivity. Separate real value from hype.
Own execution and delivery: Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans. Track KPIs, manage throughput, and ensure teams deliver on time and to specification.
Represent engineering to stakeholders: Serve as a credible technical voice in customer conversations when needed. Communicate clearly on technical matters and build trust through competence.
What We're Looking For
Must Have:
- 10+ years leading software engineering teams, with experience managing managers
- Strong track record improving engineering quality, velocity, and efficiency
- Deep expertise in modern SDLC: CI/CD, automated testing, code review processes, release management at scale
- Experience operating in high-frequency release environments with demanding SLAs
- Technical credibility to evaluate architecture decisions and hold senior engineers accountable
- Experience optimizing team structures and workflows for efficiency
- Executive communication skills for stakeholder and customer-facing situations
Strong Plus:
- Experience implementing AI-assisted development workflows
- Background in security or related technical domains (or demonstrated ability to ramp quickly)
- Experience leading large engineering organizations (50+ engineers)
Who This Role Is For
This is for engineering leaders who get energized by operational challenges — building the machine that builds the product. If you love creating efficient systems, elevating engineering standards, and enabling teams to do their best work, we'd like to hear from you.
Skills Required
- 10+ years in Cybersecurity with understanding of Vulnerability Management and Threat Landscape
- Proven background managing software development teams focusing on modern DevOps practices
- Experience leading major incident response efforts during critical security events
- Exceptional ability to articulate technical root causes to external stakeholders
- Experience delivering complex security products on aggressive timelines
- Leadership experience with high-performing regional teams aligning with global direction
