The Director, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting functions as a key finance professional primarily responsible for the preparation and filing of SEC reports and managing quarterly reviews and annual audits with our external auditors.  Secondary responsibilities include responsibility of accounting for and tracking of equity transactions, Sarbanes Oxley compliance in related finance areas, and technical accounting and research projects as required. 

·       Manage Company’s external financial reporting process, including SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q) and compilation of financial statements, management's discussion and analysis, and footnote disclosures

·       Assist with technical accounting matters such as revenue recognition, stock option accounting and reporting, leases, consolidations, and impairment assessments including carrying out research and documentation for a variety of complex and non-standard transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, debt offerings, new stock compensation arrangements etc., adoption of new standards, as well as general corporate accounting matters

·       Maintain completed US GAAP, disclosure and change of control checklists for all issued financial reports

·       Own the XBRL process

·       Manage the equity process including new grants, vesting, stock-based compensation accounting, modifications, and required disclosures

·       Serve as a subject matter expert on US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, with the ability to research and analyze new and proposed disclosure requirements

·       Implement process improvements to streamline the financial reporting process and improve information quality

·       Analyze competitor filings and industry reports to assess trends in financial statement disclosures

·       Assist in review of quarterly financial statements, including preparation of statement of cash flows and earnings per share

·       Monitor and revise policies and procedures as needed to ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over external financial reporting

·       Assist in the preparation of presentations for the Audit Committee and senior management on various financial topics

·       Manage the annual audit and quarterly review activities with external auditors

Manage testing by internal and external auditors on internal controls


Requirements

·       Strong communications skills, as well as strong organizational, time and project management skills

·       Excellent understanding of US GAAP accounting principles with a strong knowledge of SEC reporting regulations

·       Ability to independently research accounting and reporting issues, propose solutions, and effectively document conclusions with excellent written communication skills

·       Technically proficient with the ability to prioritize tasks meet critical deadlines by managing multiple deliverables concurrently

·       Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a willingness to support a lean team on a variety of high priority tasks

·       Experience and working knowledge of XBRL tagging services

·       Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

Education, Certifications, Experience

·       Bachelor or higher degree in Accounting or Finance

·       At least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 2-3 years at a Big 4 public accounting firm

·       CPA or equivalent qualification required


Benefits

·       Comprehensive compensation package includes base salary + RSUs. Salary range for this role is $190,000 to $210,000. Base salary will be determined based on knowledge, experience, and education.
