What You'll Do
In this role, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team of account directors, oncologists, product managers, and software engineers to help develop, commercialize, and deliver our services products. You'll also:

  • Engage with potential clients to identify their Real World Evidence (RWE) needs, to help to design RWE scientific solutions addressing those needs, and to ensure that these operational delivery requirements are translated internally so that we can deliver high quality work that exceeds client expectations
  • Be the subject matter expert on how to optimally leverage real world data throughout the regulatory drug development and post-marketing process, including external comparators, post-marketing commitments, risk management programs, and regulatory use of natural history studies.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Flatiron's offerings and reliably represent our capabilities to advance the oncology research priorities and evidence generation needs of our biopharma research collaborators
  • Collaborate with the Partnerships team to identify potential sales opportunities and support the sales process; leverage your customer network to ensure an ongoing new business pipeline for the Services engagement business
  • Provide Governance oversight on RWE projects and act as an escalation point to both internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, as needed. Liaise with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders to reach resolution.
  • Assess the unique needs and delivery expectations of each customer and align project delivery teams to meet them
  • Operate within a strategic partnership/consulting model and must be adept working in a matrix management model with various other strategic and operational disciplines
  • Lead customer proposals, Request for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), presentations, proposal defenses, bid defenses, and Steering Committees


Who You Are
You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who values the opportunity to think beyond the way things are. In addition, this position requires leadership, outstanding problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, and experience multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.

  • You have a PhD degree in healthcare/life sciences field, or equivalent related degree and/or experience, plus 5-10 years of experience in the clinical/pharmaceutical research and/or product commercialization process
  • You have significant experience using real-world data to solve problems across the pharma product lifecycle, specifically with regards to the spectrum of regulatory applications (external comparators, post-marketing commitments, natural history studies, etc.)
  • You have deep understanding and awareness of the industry's latest and upcoming innovations and technological breakthroughs in the Evidence Generation space and regulatory environment
  • You have significant experience and demonstrated success working directly with clients and potential clients, designing service-based solutions that directly address client needs
  • You have worked in a matrix-structured environment with multiple product lines
  • You have knowledge of FDA and other Regulatory Authority processes and regulations
  • You are able to handle multiple tasks concurrently, to meet ongoing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • You have effective organizational, presentation, documentation, analytical and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a matrixed team
  • You are able to implement, control and understand productivity measures and have a good understanding of financial controls
  • You are able to juggle multiple client interactions and deadlines simultaneously and the versatility to collaborate with clients at all levels and functions
  • You are able to travel up to 30% of the time, as needed


Extra credit

  • You have direct oncology experience
  • You have experience working with EHR-based RWD
  • You have experience in a Contract Research Organization or Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology company


Where you'll work

Job Compensation Range
Salary Range: $168,800.00 - $253,200.00
Preferred Primary Location: Raleigh-Durham Office
The annual pay range reflected above for this position is based on the preferred primary location of the role which is listed in the job description. Salary ranges for other locations vary from the range reflected above. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
