What You'll Do
In this role, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team of account directors, oncologists, product managers, and clinical operations specialists to help develop, commercialize, and deliver our oncology research data and services. You'll also:

  • Leverage diverse expertise (experience and education) to initiate/further/nurture influential partnerships, ensuring a blend of scientific insight and commercial foresight. Engage with potential clients to identify how best they can leverage Flatiron and linked genetic data for their pharmaceutical research needs from clinical development planning through commercialization, and help design and shape the optimal solutions for each client.
  • Drive external collaboration through impactful and creative initiatives
  • Act as an internal conduit for precision oncology data and customized research solutions to ensure that the client needs and proposed solutions are conveyed and interpreted effectively to drive optimal development of proposals/SOWs to meet the clients' expectations on scope, timelines, and budget.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Flatiron's offerings and reliably represent our capabilities to advance the oncology research priorities and evidence generation needs of our biopharma research collaborators.
  • Collaborate with the Life Science Partnerships & Clinical Research Sales teams to identify potential sales opportunities and support the sales process; leverage your customer network to ensure an ongoing new business pipeline and to unlock the Translational Research & Discovery vertical.
  • Operate within a strategic partnership/consulting model and must be adept working in a matrix management model with various other strategic and operational disciplines.
  • Further embed yourself in organizations as a trusted resource and extension of the (potential) customer, while seamlessly integrating sales strategies with scientific and operational expertise to enhance client trust and business growth.


Who You Are
You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who values the opportunity to think beyond the way things are. In addition, this position requires leadership, outstanding problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, and experience multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.

  • You have an MD or PhD degree in healthcare/life sciences field, or equivalent related degree and/or experience, plus 10+ years of experience in clinical/pharmaceutical research, precision oncology, genetic epidemiology, translational research, and/or relevant experience.
  • You have significant experience using real-world data and/or innovative clinical research approaches/tools to solve problems across the pharma product lifecycle, specifically as it relates to precision oncology..
  • You have deep understanding and awareness of the industry's latest and upcoming innovations and technological breakthroughs in the Precision Oncology and related evidence generation space.
  • You have significant experience and demonstrated success working directly with clients and potential clients, designing service-based solutions that directly address client needs.
  • You have worked in a matrix-structured environment with multiple product lines.
  • You are able to handle multiple tasks concurrently, to meet ongoing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have effective organizational, presentation, documentation, analytical and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed team.
  • You are able to implement, control and understand productivity measures and have a good understanding of financial controls.
  • You are able to juggle multiple client interactions and deadlines simultaneously and the versatility to collaborate with clients at all levels and functions.
  • You are able to travel up to 30% of the time, as needed.


Where you'll work

Job Compensation Range
Salary Range: $187,200.00 - $280,800.00
Preferred Primary Location: Raleigh-Durham Office
The annual pay range reflected above for this position is based on the preferred primary location of the role which is listed in the job description. Salary ranges for other locations vary from the range reflected above. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
