Position Summary: The Director of Scheduling to the DNC Chair will be responsible for managing the schedule of the DNC Chair. This role will work closely with the DNC Chair and the Chair’s Chief of Staff to ensure that all requests of the Chair’s time are reviewed, discussed, and responded to in a timely manner. This position will also be tasked with special projects for the Chair’s Office.
Responsibilities:
- Manage an ever-evolving calendar, including vetting and prioritizing requests, and approving all travel, events, meetings, and calls on the Chair’s schedule
- Produce and maintain the Chair’s long-term calendar
- Ensure the Chair is adequately prepared for events and meetings by coordinating logistics and ensuring accurate briefing materials, memos
- Develop cross-departmental relationships and work closely with senior staff to develop daily and long-range schedules that advance the work and mission of the DNC
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality regarding all matters and documents; be trusted with confidential information
- Manage special projects as assigned to support the department and the DNC’s mission
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of previous scheduling experience with an elected official or high-level surrogate preferred
- Enjoys a fast paced working environment, adapts quickly to shifting goals, and understands the sense of urgency
- Works well under pressure and handles stress with a sense of humor and grace
- Self-motivator with a proactive approach to traditional and unexpected assignments
- Communicates effectively with supervisors and colleagues
- Works well independently and has a collaborative approach to priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; thoroughness, timeliness, and attention to detail
- Proven ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Flexibility and recognition that winning campaigns often means working outside of traditional office hours
- Strong interest and experience in politics, coalition building, as well as core Democratic Party issues
- Comfortable working across multiple software platforms
- Based in or willing to move to Washington, DC
Travel: This position will require travel, which could be up to 15 % of the time.
Salary: The starting salary for the position is $90,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends.
