Job Description

As the Director of SAP Services at LGC, you will play a pivotal role in crafting the future of our IT landscape. This is your chance to lead a team of outstanding professionals and build a world-class SAP ERP technology strategy that aligns with our ambitious business objectives. We are looking for someone who will ensure the flawless integration and optimization of SAP ECC, SAP Business by Design, and related ERP applications, driving maximum value for our organization. You will be the primary liaison to Divisional and Group IT, encouraging positive relationships to successfully implement innovative solutions that propel our business forward!

To perform this job successfully, you must be able to capably perform each of the following essential duties:

  • Develop and maintain a prioritized technology roadmap for SAP ECC, SAP Business by Building, and related applications, aligned with business collaborators and organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with business owners to identify, prioritize, and fund requirements into effective solutions.
  • Facilitate strategy sessions, providing expert advice on technology methods and guidelines.
  • Coordinate arguments, budgeting, and lead all aspects of delivery of technology initiatives.
  • Lead SAP and ancillary technical teams, including outsourced resources, to deliver the organization’s business activities, while also ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate personnel activities of direct reports and broader team, including personnel engagement, talent development, budgeting, staffing, training, performance management, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Advocate for SAP business, technical, data, and security needs to business leads, Group IT, and other collaborators.
  • Provide technical leadership for technology selection and architecture build.
  • Champion Group IT standards within the D&G Business Unit.
  • Integrate information security into SAP architecture and operations.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, data, and AI policies to improve information for business decision making.
  • Drive system improvements and adoption of new technologies.
  • Manage and optimize SAP-specific budget to support business initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence and high performance.
  • Adhere to company Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policy.
  • Perform other duties as required, or assigned by management, to meet business needs.

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, software engineering, or a related analytical discipline—or an equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable work experience.
  • Previous experience in IT management aligning with business goals for a mid-to-large size enterprise.
  • Proven leadership and collaborator management abilities, with experience guiding internal, outsourced, and cross-functional teams.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including effective meeting facilitation and presentations.
  • Strong program and project management skills, with expertise in planning, estimating, prioritisation, and delivery of projects with varying complexity.
  • Proven expertise of software development life cycles (SDLC), including waterfall, agile, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Previous experience managing cross-functional teams, demonstrating success in developing technical staff, retaining talent, and planning for succession.
  • Proven experience with SAP ECC 6, SAP Business by Building, and related SAP ecosystem tools.
  • Proven success working within a global matrix organizational structure.
  • Experience delivering technology solutions in manufacturing and/or life sciences environments.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
