Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company goals and market dynamics.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team (regional managers, account executives, inside sales, etc.).
- Set clear objectives and KPIs for the sales organization and monitor performance against targets.
- Identify new market opportunities and customer segments for growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and OEMs.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and service teams to align sales efforts with overall business operations.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports to senior leadership.
- Negotiate high-value deals and contracts in coordination with legal and finance departments.
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform strategy.
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 8–12 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the equipment distribution industry.
- Demonstrated success in managing high-performing sales teams and achieving aggressive growth targets.
- Strong understanding of the equipment distribution channel, including inventory, logistics, and customer service.
- An effective presenter able to address both current account and prospect needs, and offer solutions to enhance their business
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a record of successfully building and sustaining client relationships.
- Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel as needed (30–50%).
- Experience in planning and budgeting, and able to prepare detailed forecasts and strategic plans.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of specific equipment types (e.g., laser systems, packaging, security printing, and more).
- Experience working with manufacturers/OEMs and managing dealer or distributor networks.
- Familiarity with leasing, financing, and after-market service models.
