We are looking for a dynamic Director of Sales, Mid-Market to help scale our sales function and drive growth within this key market segment. This role will be based in Charlotte, NC, with a hybrid work structure (50% in-office).

As the Director of Sales, Mid-Market, you will play a pivotal role in building a world-class sales organization from the ground up. You will lead the rapid hiring and onboarding of a new sales team, working in batches of 3-5 hires, and scaling the team quickly after the first cohort is onboarded. You will collaborate closely with the CRO and sales operations consultants to define and execute our sales strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and Scale the Mid-Market Sales Team: Hire, onboard, and develop a high-performing sales team in batches of 3-5. Quickly scale the team following the successful onboarding of the initial cohort.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Help define and implement the sales strategy for the mid-market segment, working closely with the CRO and sales operations consultants.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the new sales team, ensuring they are equipped with the resources and knowledge to succeed.
  • Pipeline & Forecasting: Establish and manage sales processes that drive effective pipeline management and accurate forecasting. Track and report on key performance metrics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the knowledge and development team (currently being hired) and work cross-functionally with marketing, customer success, and product to ensure alignment on go-to-market strategy and product adoption.
  • Customer Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with key mid-market customers to drive long-term partnerships and identify opportunities for upsell and cross-sell.
  • Market Insights: Leverage customer feedback and market insights to continuously improve sales strategies and performance.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in a sales leadership role, ideally in SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or tech industries.
  • Proven experience building and scaling sales teams in fast-growing environments, particularly in mid-market segments.
  • Comfortable working in a high-growth environment and leading a first sales organization from the ground up.
  • Strong knowledge of product-led growth (PLG) strategies and experience driving adoption within technical user bases.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills, with a data-driven approach to sales management.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred).
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid model, spending 50% of your time in the Charlotte office.
  • Successful completion of a background check

What You’ll Receive:

  • The competitive base pay for this position ranges from ($150,000 - $200,000). This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at RunPod and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. This role will have a sales commissions/sales bonuses target on top of their annual base pay.
