The Role

Roadtex Transportation has become a leader in the nationwide LTL industry, specializing in transporting time and temperature-sensitive products. We handle refrigerated and LTL needs by leveraging no sailing schedules, our nationwide network of 32 strategically placed temperature-controlled facilities, our state-of-the-art tracking, and our specialized equipment and warehousing capabilities. In 2022, Roadtex was acquired by Echo Global Logistics. The acquisition brings a truckload brokerage and expanded transportation management solutions to Roadtex's customers while providing Echo with our national warehouse footprint and advanced temperature-controlled transportation solutions. 

Position Overview: The Director Sales Support plays a critical role in supporting the senior leadership team by managing key projects, facilitating communication, and ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of strategic initiatives. The role serves as a trusted advisor and a liaison between the executive team and the rest of the organization, ensuring alignment and helping to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning Support:

    • Collaborate with senior leadership to define and prioritize the company's strategic goals and objectives.

    • Provide insights, research, and data to support decision-making processes.

    • Oversee the execution of key strategic projects, ensuring they are aligned with the company’s vision and objectives.

    • Ensure customer service representatives, account executives and operations are aligned on customer expectations, and develop strategies to expectations are met.

  • Cross-functional Coordination:

    • Act as the main point of contact between senior executives or departments, ensuring that communication is clear and effective.

    • Coordinate and manage key cross-functional projects, making sure teams are aligned and deadlines are met.

    • Work with Echo sales to ensure onboarding,  daily expectations and continuous improvement initiatives are achieved.

  • Project Management:

    • Lead and manage high-priority initiatives, often working with various teams to drive projects from inception to completion.

    • Oversee tracking and reporting of project progress to ensure deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

  • Operational Efficiency:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements across the organization and implement initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

    • Assist with the design and implementation of internal processes to enhance productivity and communication across teams.

  • Executive Support:

    • Support the day-to-day operational tasks and act as a trusted advisor for decision-making.

    • Prepare materials for meetings, including briefing notes, reports, and presentations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred experience

  • Experience:

    • Proven experience in a leadership role, such as management consulting, operations, or project management.

    • Experience working closely with executive leadership teams in a fast-paced environment.

    • Strong understanding of business operations and strategic planning.

  • Skills:

    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.

    • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

    • Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly.

    • High level of discretion, integrity, and the ability to handle confidential information.

Work Environment:

This job operates in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office with an open seating floor plan. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.
