The Sales Director - SEA is a strategic leadership role responsible for the aggressive expansion of Selkirk Sport’s market share across SEA. Reporting to the Co-CEO, this individual will lead a diverse team of country-specific Sales Representatives, ensuring that Selkirk becomes the dominant brand in the rapidly growing SEA pickleball market.

This is a "Leader of Leaders" role. The ideal candidate is a polyglot with deep cultural intelligence, capable of pivoting from high-level wholesale negotiations in Pickleball developed countries to grassroots community building in less developed countries. Tasked with localized execution of Selkirk’s domestic success, you will harmonize Selkirk’s core brand strategies and values with the diverse business nuances of Asia, utilizing deep cultural intelligence to secure premium partnerships and drive sustainable regional growth.


Key Responsibilities
  • Regional Team Management: Directly lead and mentor a team of Sales Reps across key territories (e.g., Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, China). Foster a high-performance culture that balances aggressive growth with Selkirk’s "Gold Standard" service.
  • Wholesale Strategy: Identify, vet, and manage high-tier wholesale partners, clubs and pro-shops. Negotiate terms that protect brand positioning and ensure long-term profitability.
  • Localized Go-to-Market (GTM) Plans: Develop country-specific sales playbooks that account for local sport maturity, purchasing habits, and competitive landscapes.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Work in lockstep with the Asian Director of Operations to ensure sales forecasts align with 3PL stock levels and that the regional team can support continued growth.
  • Cultural & Linguistic Liaison: Utilize multilingual capabilities to build trust with local partners and bridge communication gaps between the Asian sales force and US headquarters.
  • Leverage Tech & AI: be a tech leader within the sales organization and drive improvement of our custom build CRM.
QualificationsRequired:
  • Tenure: 10+ years in Sales Leadership, with at least 6 years managing multi-country teams in Asia.
  • Sector: Sporting goods experience is preferred.
  • Language: Fluency in English plus at least two other major Asian languages is highly desirable.
  • Technical Literacy: High-level proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho CRM, etc.) and project management tools (Asana, Monday.com).
  • Location: Based in Malaysia with the ability to travel on a regular basis.
Preferred:
  • Degree: Degree in Business Administration
  • Background in sports, outdoor, or active lifestyle brands.
