The Role

Cordance is dedicated to accelerating the growth of vertically focused business-to-business (B2B) software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies through acquisition and long-term tactical and financial guidance. We’re experienced operators and subject-matter experts with a passion for software and building businesses. We partner with founders to help them scale their businesses and realize their companies’ full potential.

We look for businesses with strong leadership and high potential for profitable growth, and work together to increase year-over-year revenue, company efficiency, and impact. We believe in elevating a company as it scales, delivering dignity to the organization and its employees, and sharing a passion for building a legacy.

Cordance is seeking a Director of Sales who is responsible for leading the sales team, developing and executing strategies to drive both new business acquisition and existing account expansion, and achieving revenue growth for a specific company vertical. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales leadership, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to motivate a high-performing team. The Sales Director will focus on expanding market share, nurturing client relationships, and ensuring the team meets and exceeds revenue targets.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of sales experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles, with a focus on new business development and existing account growth in a SaaS environment
  • Must have experience in one of our core verticals: EdTech, Commerce, Regulations & Compliance, or Industrials
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue targets across both new customer acquisition and account expansion strategies
  • Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth, fast-paced environments, demonstrating the ability to drive success in dynamic settings
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to inspire, manage, and scale a sales team to meet diverse revenue goals
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and sales enablement platforms, ensuring data-driven decision-making and pipeline management
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA or equivalent experience is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and success while tracking individual and team performance to meet growth targets
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that balances new customer acquisition and account expansion, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Drive proactive prospecting, outbound campaigns, and networking to generate and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads and new business opportunities
  • Oversee strategies to deepen client relationships, maximize customer lifetime value, and drive upsell/cross-sell opportunities while ensuring long-term satisfaction and loyalty
  • Lead the entire sales cycle, ensuring effective deal management, tailored proposals, and strategic negotiations that support company revenue goals
  • Own sales forecasting for both new and existing business, providing accurate revenue projections and adjusting strategies as needed
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, including untapped regions, industries, and verticals, positioning the company as a trusted partner
  • Continuously improve sales processes, implement best practices, and ensure the team has the right tools, training, and resources to succeed
  • Partner with leadership to align sales efforts with overall company objectives and provide insights into market trends and competitive activity
