About the role:

We are looking for a strategic and customer-focused Sales Operations Director to lead our Sales Operations function, encompassing customer service, operational performance, customer fulfilment, and customer-centric execution across the Benelux region. As a member of the Benelux Leadership Team, you will drive operational excellence, customer satisfaction, process improvement, and business performance while ensuring a seamless end-to-end customer experience for our key retail and trade partners.

The Director Sales Operations Commercial Area Benelux reports directly to the VP Commercial Area Benelux.

What you'll do:
  • Ensure the delivery of a best-in-class customer experience for key retail and trade partners, balancing operational efficiency with customer satisfaction.

  • Drive continuous improvement across customer service processes, ensuring strong process adherence while improving efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Act as the voice of the customer within the Benelux Leadership Team, shaping customer-centric priorities and decisions.

  • Design and implement differentiated service models based on customer segmentation and cost-to-serve principles.

  • Ensure the successful execution of key business processes, including Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Phase In Phase Out (PIPO), e-commerce, e-invoicing, customer fulfilment, and supply chain initiatives.

  • Own the Sales Operations cost base and drive key performance indicators including customer service, product availability, demand planning accuracy, working capital, cost efficiency, and employee engagement.

  • Establish effective reporting routines, translating performance data into actionable insights and corrective actions.

  • Drive the adoption of digital tools, automation, and data-driven decision making to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.

  • Partner closely with Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, and central teams to improve customer satisfaction, maximize product availability, and drive operational performance.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and operational partners to ensure service excellence and effective collaboration.

  • Lead, coach, and develop the local Sales Operations organization, including 2 Customer Service Managers and approximately 20 Customer Service Specialists across Belgium and the Netherlands, building capabilities and fostering a high-performance culture.

What you'll bring:
  • Degree in Business, Management, or a related field.

  • Extensive leadership experience in customer service, sales operations, supply chain, or a similar leadership role - ideally within consumer goods.

  • Strong understanding of customer service operations, multi-channel distribution networks, and retail dynamics.

  • Proven leadership capabilities, able to inspire, coach and develop high-performing teams in a collaborative culture.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align commercial, operational, and customer priorities across a complex matrix organization.

  • Proven experience leading business transformation, process optimization, and organizational change initiatives, delivering measurable improvements in performance and customer experience.

  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and deliver results in complex and fast-paced environments.

  • Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills to effectively engage stakeholders across all levels, both internally and externally.

  • Fluent in Dutch and English; French is strongly preferred.
