SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Hires, trains, and supervises sales staff.
  • Supervises and provides support to Sales Managers and other departments.
  • Develop sales contracts and addendums and monitors compliance.
  • Provides on-going support and service to existing clients.
  • Identifies and implements sales goals and objectives..
  • Prepares creative Marketing and Sales Plan.
  • Prepares statistics, reports, and budget presentations for General Manager.
  • Represents the facility at all industry-related Trade Shows.
  • Creates, presents, and attends bid presentations in collaboration with hotel and/or CTB.
  • Develops and managers marketing budget and media placement.
  • Ensures successful event coordination between Sales Managers and other departments.
  • Research reviews, and recommends equipment, materials and supplies required in providing event services and planning.
  • Coordinates inside or outside service needs with food and beverage, decorator, and other vendors.
  • Coordinates with marketing all media entry into the building before, during, or immediately following events.
  • Coordinates with all departments as needed to manage events.
  • Maintains the proper image and generates positive public relations with patrons and staff.
  • Works extended/irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Meets with potential clients, advise them on the facility requirements and negotiates sales of additional services.
  • Prepares annual budget for department.
  • All other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises the Sales and Marketing Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with LEGENDS GLOBAL policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

B.S. in Hotel Management or related field

1-3 years supervisory experience desired.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • High aptitude for figures and advanced writing skills
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
  • Excellent negotiation techniques

COMPUTER SKILL

To perform this job successful, an individual should have knowledge of computers. Mastery knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to adjust work schedule to coincide with events
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to travel extensively (air and auto required)
  • Ability to work irregular hours and some holidays in addition to normal business hours.
