The Director of Commercial is responsible for leading Bushnell’s commercial strategy and revenue delivery across priority channels and accounts. This role owns channel strategy, account prioritization, field and rep leadership, sell-in execution, and commercial planning inputs that support profitable growth across the three Bushnell verticals of Hunt, Outdoors, and Precision.
This leader will partner closely with Marketing, Merchandising & Category, Business Operations & Planning, shared Finance, and shared Operations to ensure Bushnell’s market strategy is focused, executable, and aligned to brand priorities.
This is not a traditional sales-only role. The Director of Commercial is expected to help shape where and how Bushnell wins in the market, improve channel focus, strengthen retailer quality, and bring stronger commercial discipline to the business. This is an onsite role located in Bozeman, MT.
Key Responsibilities
Own Bushnell’s commercial strategy across wholesale, independent, specialty, key accounts, and other priority channels
Set account and channel priorities aligned to brand and portfolio strategy
Lead revenue delivery and commercial execution across Hunt, Outdoors, and Precision
Build and manage sales structure, rep groups, account coverage, and retailer communication rhythm
Develop annual and quarterly sell-in plans tied to launches, category priorities, and inventory realities
Partner with Merchandising & Category to shape channel assortment, hero SKU focus, pricing ladders, and promotional guardrails
Provide commercial inputs into forecasting, demand planning, and S&OP readiness
Partner with Marketing & Consumer to align launches, trade support, retail storytelling, and channel-specific activation
Help define the role of DTC and Amazon within Bushnell’s broader channel strategy
Build retailer relationships that improve focus, placement, and long-term quality of distribution
Identify where Bushnell should win, where it should maintain, and where it should simplify or exit
Lead with discipline around revenue quality, not just topline volume
Serve as a strong cross-functional partner in a collaborative environment with shared services and evolving operating processes

Required Experience
8–12+ years of sales, commercial, or channel leadership experience in consumer products, outdoor, sporting goods, durable goods, or adjacent categories
Experience leading account strategy, field teams, rep groups, or multi-channel commercial organizations
Track record of developing channel strategy and translating it into measurable results
Experience partnering with merchandising/category and marketing to drive profitable growth
Strong commercial planning, retailer communication, and execution skills
Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment with shared services and cross-functional partners
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Proven ability to balance short-term revenue needs with longer-term brand and channel health
Preferred Experience
Outdoor, optics, sporting goods, or enthusiast category experience
Experience with independent retail, big-box, specialty, and marketplace-informed channel strategy
Experience in businesses undergoing change, simplification, or readiness for transaction/licensing evolution
Familiarity with DTC and Amazon as part of a broader channel strategy
Experience helping improve forecast quality, launch execution, and commercial planning discipline

Pay Range:
Annual Salary: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
