Capital One is seeking an experienced professional to join our Retail Risk team supporting Bank Premium Products & Experiences, Travel. Candidates will be bringing their robust background in the travel industry to a role where their insights will be critical to our success. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the complexities of global travel operations, including familiarity with key regulatory frameworks, common logistical challenges, and the nuanced expectations of travelers and industry partners.
As a Director in Capital One's Retail Risk, you will apply your leadership and analytical skills to support the Capital One Travel business. You will lead a team of Risk Specialists and act as a thought leader working across the enterprise to develop and implement cutting edge Risk solutions to ensure Capital One's continued stability and success.

Responsibilities:
  • Have an opportunity to support a fast growing business through product development lifecycle from ideation to execution.
  • Advise and consult with risk and business teams to help develop well-designed products, processes, and supporting technologies and implement risk management practices; support our business partners to drive the risk/return trade-off decisions
  • Partner closely with the business teams to lead and deliver on our well-managed agenda
  • Stay abreast of the changing regulatory environment of the travel industry and understand the impacts to the business areas that you support
  • Work with business partners to validate risk processes impacting the companies bottom line
  • Use analytical skills to conduct Risk Process Improvement, Process Design & Process Excellence
  • Large scale Process Management/Governance
  • Work with dynamic teams on Departmental Process Management & Execution

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in Project or Process Management
  • At least 2 years experience in Operations Management
  • At least 2 years experience in Project Management
  • At least 2 years experience in People Management

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of professional experience working directly within the travel industry (airline management, corporate travel, tour operation, or hospitality).
  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Services
  • 10+ years of overall experience as a Project or Process Manager
  • Business Process Management certification, Six Sigma Lean, Green Belt or Black Belt certification, Agile Coach certification, Compliance Certification (CRCM)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $200,100 - $228,400 for Director, Risk Management
Richmond, VA: $181,800 - $207,500 for Director, Risk Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
