Position Description
The Director of Risk Management will provide strategic and visionary leadership regarding Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and regulatory compliance as it relates to the operations of Saddle Creek Logistics Services. This role will also be responsible for protecting company assets using Risk Identification and Assessment, Policy Development & Implementation, Insurance Management and Regulatory Compliance. This role will support Operations and have collaborative interaction with Legal, Loss Prevention/Asset Protection and HR to assist in claims related investigations and other risk related needs.
Responsibilities
Insurance Program Management
- Manage all aspects of our enterprise-wide insurance program including broker interaction and captive program.
- Responsible for managing the annual insurance program renewals and audit processes.
- Actively manage and evaluate overall program for gaps, deficiencies and improvement.
- Report, analyze and present program results.
- Ensure risk management aligns with corporate strategic objectives.
- Manage and support program compliance associated with changes and contractual requirements.
- FM Global lead and coordination with Support, Commercial Real Estate and Operations teams.
Risk Management
- Develop and implement comprehensive ERM framework of policies and controls.
- Conduct risk assessments, create risk profiles/registries and use models to predict potential financial/operational impacts.
- Oversee strategies to offset or minimize identified risks.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations. Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the Logistics industry.
- Create and promote a culture of company-wide risk management understanding and awareness.
Regulatory and Compliance
- Oversee regulatory and compliance requirements of the business as it relates to customer demands and industry standards.
- Provides all facilities with the requisite guidance, oversight, and assistance to develop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements: FDA/AIB/IFS, USDA, DEA/BOP, CTPAT, FTZ and EPA consistent with Saddle Creek policies & procedures.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor Degree required; prefer degree in Finance or Risk Management
- Minimum of 10 years of experience operating in a regulatory compliance role
- Must possess 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the logistics field
- Demonstrated experience in the field of Risk Management with knowledge of Loss Prevention (including Security)
- Experience managing Enterprise-wide Insurance program with broker interaction
- Experience managing claims and insurance investigations
- Experience using exploratory data analysis and inferential statistics
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization
- Strong proficiency in all aspects of MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of captive insurance programs
- Knowledge of CTPAT, FDA/AIB & FTZ preferred
- Knowledge of loss prevention/asset protection/physical security preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and prioritize
- Ability to travel with short notice
