This role will lead planning, development, and execution of pricing strategies for Sysco’s Specialty businesses in partnership with the Specialty company teams. The work spans across weekly margin management processes, margin management tools, pricing technology, tactical value capture, value sizing and long-term road mapping. This role will work closely with the merchandizing teams, revenue management teams, technology teams, and other key cross functional partners such as the Enterprise Analytics team, Finance to drive alignment, execution and to collect feedback.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- 35% Support Senior Director, Revenue Management by leading the development & implementation of Specialty Pricing Initiatives – define, design, size when needed, and implement pricing initiatives. This includes but is not limited technology used to manage cost, tools used to set price, tactical value capture, pricing technology evolution, etc.
- 10% Build and generate performance insights and processes that enable data led pricing decisions
- 15% Manage the overall portfolio of pricing related projects across Specialty companies
- 10% Proactively identify pricing opportunities and risks, develop recommendations, and implement solutions with cross-functional teams
- 10% Contribute to Specialty roadmap that enhances pricing strategy over time
- 10% Lead leadership and key stakeholder alignment on pricing strategies and deployment tactics
- 10% Develop strong working relationships across the various organizations
Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, engineering or another analytical field of study
Education Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field or computer programing, MBA or equivalent advanced degree
Experience Required:
- 8 -10 years of relevant experience in e-Commerce Merchandising and execution of pricing strategy or a combination of relevant experiences specific to food service (e.g., finance, revenue management, sales, etc.) domestically and internationally
Experience Preferred:
- Transformation of pricing strategy inclusive of a shift to technology driven quantitative optimization of pricing strategies
Skills and Abilities:
- Skill of analytics in excel, tableau, and other relevant tools, depending on the exact role within the team additional technical skills including detailed knowledge of SQL, Python, and other similar analytical tools. Skill of development of visual communications to influence executive decision making based on quantitative learnings. Strong ability to communicate complex analytical recommendations at the concept level to drive executive team alignment and decisions on critical elements of pricing strategy. Skill of cross functional collaboration as pricing recommendations impact: sales, finance, category management, customer growth and many other functions within Sysco Foods
- Experience with financial forecasting and value measurement
- Exceptional leadership skills to build bridges and lead in cross-functional teams to deliver insights
- Exceptional analytical skills to identify and quantify new opportunities and gaps and the ability to synthesize and analyze large sets of data to yield actionable findings
- Proven track record for driving business results through strong leadership, communication, effective internal and external relationships
