About Figure

Figure (NASDAQ: FIGR) is transforming capital markets through blockchain. We’re proving that blockchain isn’t just theory - it’s powering real products used by hundreds of thousands of consumers and institutions.

By combining blockchain’s transparency and efficiency with AI-driven automation, we’ve reimagined how loans are originated, funded, and traded in secondary markets. From faster processing times to lower costs and reduced bias, our technology is helping borrowers, investors, and financial institutions achieve better outcomes.

Together with our 170+ partners, we’ve originated over $22 billion in home equity loans (HELOCs) on our blockchain-native platform, making Figure the largest non-bank provider of home equity financing in the U.S. Figure’s ecosystem also includes YLDS, an SEC-registered yield-bearing stablecoin that operates as a tokenized money market fund, and several other products and platforms that are reshaping consumer finance and capital markets.

We’re proud to be recognized as one of Forbes’ Most Innovative Fintech Startups in 2025 and Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in Finance and Personal Finance.

About the Role

Figure is hiring a Director, Revenue Accounting to lead accounting across Figure's technology and lending revenue and the balance sheet accounts that go with it — loans, receivables, and related reserves. You'll own core close processes, build scalable infrastructure, and partner cross-functionally to support a rapidly growing platform, with the loan accounting function reporting into you.

This is a high-ownership role with direct responsibility for people, processes, and systems spanning revenue and its related balance sheets across the business.

What You’ll Do

  • Take full accountability for month-end close across revenue and its related balance sheet accounts — loans, receivables, and reserves — this means owning the outcome, not just overseeing the process.
  • Prepare and deliver clear and concise reporting on close status, open items and risk areas to the Controller, escalating issues proactively with recommended solutions.
  • Oversee accounting for loan origination, servicing, and sales, along with technology and platform revenue, with meticulous attention to accuracy and completeness.
  • Own the balance sheet accounts tied to that revenue — loans, accounts receivable, and reserves — ensuring they're accurately valued, reconciled, and supported.
  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of financial statements, ensure all revenue and related balance sheet positions are well supported and audit ready documentation at every close.
  • Design accounting frameworks and policies that are built to scale, anticipating the needs of a growing business, not just solving for today.
  • Partner with Technical Accounting to establish and maintain revenue recognition policies and controls that hold up under audit and regulatory scrutiny.
  • Support new product launches by thinking through the full accounting lifecycle from day one, so that downstream processes are clean and defensible from the start.
  • Identify risks and opportunities in our accounting infrastructure before they become problems, and develop a roadmap to address them.
  • Serve as the primary accounting liaison to Product and Engineering on new product launches, evaluating accounting implications from inception and ensuring revenue flows are accurately reflected in the ledger from day one.
  • Manage and grow a high-performing accounting team, including the loan accounting function, setting clear expectations and holding people accountable with both directness and care.
  • Leverage large, complex data sets to investigate and resolve reconciliation variances across revenue and related balance sheet accounts, driving root cause analysis and implementing long term solutions.
  • Work with the Director of Internal Controls on design, documentation, and ongoing monitoring of SOX controls across revenue accounting processes to ensure control effectiveness and audit readiness.

What We Look For

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a people management role - ideally in fintech, or a high-growth environment with complex or multi-stream revenue.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP revenue recognition, related balance sheet accounting, and reconciliation management at scale.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and improving accounting systems and workflows, not just operating within them.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to work through large data sets to resolve complex reconciliation variances.
  • Experience managing accounting across multiple or diverse revenue streams preferred.
  • Experience with SOX compliance, including maintaining controls in a public company or pre-IPO environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of reporting financial status and risk clearly to Controllers, CFO, or equivalent management.
  • Experience collaborating directly with Product and Engineering teams, with the ability to translate accounting requirements into system and operational design.
  • Adhere to all company security policies and data handling procedures.
  • Complete mandatory security awareness training within required timeframes.
  • Promptly report any suspected security incidents or suspicious activity to the Security team.

Salary

  • Base Compensation Range: $152,000 - $228,000/yr
  • 25% annual bonus target, paid quarterly
  • Company equity in the form of RSUs

This is the compensation range for the role in the United States. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate’s experience, skills, location, internal equity, and evolving business needs. While most offers are generally made within the middle of the range, final compensation is determined based on the factors above.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 100% employer-paid premiums for employees and their dependents on select plans
  • Company HSA, FSA, Dependent Care FSA, 401(k), and commuter benefits
  • Employer-paid life and disability insurance
  • 11 observed holidays and PTO plan
  • Up to 12 weeks of paid family leave
  • Continuing education reimbursement

What We Do

Figure has applied blockchain technology across a series of real-world applications that are delivering real and immediate value to everyday consumers across sectors, including loan origination, private company cap table and fund management, security markets and payments. Figure has and continues to develop innovative products and services that seek to bypass traditional incumbents within the financial services industry. Simply put, Figure is delivering on the promise of blockchain technology. Over $15B in transactions have been conducted on the Provenance Blockchain, a layer 1 designed for financial services, built and deployed by Figure. As one of the first lenders to fully use blockchain technology, Figure is driving adoption across the lending ecosystem and providing stakeholders the benefit of an immutable record of asset ownership on the Provenance Blockchain. Figure’s HELOC product has enabled over 85,000 households across 45 states to unlock a combined $6 billion in equity from their homes. These lines of credit give people the opportunity to fund home improvement projects, secondary education, and more. Figure is a regulatory powerhouse, boasting over 200 lending, servicing and money transmission licenses, SEC approval as an Alternative Trading System, and FINRA approved broker-dealer status. While some fintech companies aim to compete with traditional banks, Figure has stuck to expanding use cases for blockchain in finance and creating tech-enabled solutions for deep financial change in the markets. The company's iterative approach to product development has helped it to meet the evolving needs of its customers.

Why Work With Us

Figure creates tech-enabled, cutting-edge solutions for deep financial change, meeting the evolving needs of its customers. As the only firm leveraging blockchain technology to create real-world applications and immediate value to everyday consumers, Figure is effectively bridging the gap between the digital asset and traditional finance spaces.
